Has anyone assembled a list of the most well-known tech companies & their current reputation? (WLB, team culture, high salary, ease of promotion, interview difficulty, office life, pros / cons of working there, etc)?
I was just at a university recruiting event (been going to these for over 3 years now) and I realized the students don't seem as enthusiastic about joining the company as before. Anyone else notice this? Is it just a factor of how our employer brand is compared to competitors or the industry percept...Read more

How is Walmart’s reputation in the software engineering industry. Need some info to make a decision. About me - thinking of joining Walmart as a new-grad SWE upon graduation in June 2021. I’d like to switch (FAANG, pre-ipo startups, etc.) after a year or two if need arises. TC - 0
I’m curious if they could claim that the employees have performance issues and simply fire us. It surely hurts the reputation but it’s doable in the US, right? Are there legal reasons to do layoffs instead?
Whenever I see a boomer tech employee (ex: Cisco), Microsoft employee or Google employee I immediately think: too lazy, not Amazon material. They have to really impress on LPs in order to convince me they don’t twiddle their thumbs all day.
Facebook (steal and sell data) Robinhood / Citadel (GME issue) Amazon (Treat employees like shyt) any other companies in mind? for people in these companies, does public hate affect you?
I am a fresh grad that received a few offers. One faang company and another less well known startup. Google offered much less. which would you say is more important for a junior dev: TC vs company reputation vs learning opportunities/project

What are all your thoughts on people who had legit roles in weed/porn/etc techcompanies on their resumes? What other industries would raise red flags just because of the company? Political? Palantir?
confused with the following companies for accepting the offer. Also, Let me know TC ballpark figure for New Grad role/
Curious to hear of company policies that bar candidates from certain companies because of the culture of that company. Should I be worried about resume damage of joining a rest and vest company?
