Remote work. Good work-life balance. Decent benefits. That is the only reason I am still here.
CEO is terrible makes same mistakes over and over again. Revolving door of senior leaders. Failure to find a second act. Current bet product will not succeed due to poor leadership and execution. Headcount freezes and reductions. Layoffs coming. No budget for anything. No opportunities to grow. Stock price plummeting. This is a sinking ship SOS.

News: “Dropbox to layoff 11% of workforce, COO to step down” Report says this is to lower investment to support work from office after going virtual first. Not sure how true! Anticipated? Surprised?
Heard from a former employee that Layoffs are likely. Anyone heard something concrete? Timothy’s departure and hiring freeze would indicate something similar. I work at Dropbox but use an old handle TC: 375k #layoff #dropbox @dropbox

Thinking about joining company as PM. How’s the health of company? Any talk of layoffs?
Wondering if there is any rumor of Dropbox doing a layoff. They had a big reorg recently but they reorg often. Leadership is also being pretty conservative and not outright reject the idea of a layoff.
https://blog.dropbox.com/topics/company/-a-message-from-our-ceo Who didn't see this coming? Going full remote have increased company productivity leading to layoffs of the original high paying jobs, so they are laying off 11%
Is it worldwide ? Just sales or tech too ? https://www.cnbc.com/2023/04/27/dropbox-layoffs-company-to-cut-500-employees.html #layoffs #ai
I really miss it. Is it a good time to try come back? What's the culture like now? I was an IC4 at the time, non-tech. But I've been working with our ML/AI teams at PayPal to brush up on my tech bonafides. #jobopening #dropbox #paypal #productmanagement

Finally today I feel motivated to begin my search. Would love if some of you would be open to give me referrals or if anything in your team is open. #layoff #referral
WORST LEADERSHIP ever. CEO doesn’t want to take a pay cut but want to have people without jobs and pay. Never prepared people for layoffs. Amazon sure did a better job than Dropbox. Apparently they laid off people so the focus can be on AI but they want people to ship laptops to wipe them off LOL....Read more
Been seeing trickle of engineering layoff posts on Blind, Dropbox, VMware, Walmart. What company you think will be next to lay off expensive bay area people? #layoffs
Let’s assume pay is the same. Dropbox pros: - Good WLB - Higher level / more scope - Fully remote Dropbox cons: - Trying to pivot to stay competitive - Lots of leadership churn / recent layoffs - Stagnant stock - Fully remote - Unlimited PTO Stripe Pros: - Potential for upside / stock probably on...Read more

Square L6: ~500k Dropbox M4: ~450k Tier 2 location Both gave me the standard lines in terms of layoffs and promo timing. Both similar big data problems. Square/Block seems to be faster to the L7 promo. Dropbox/Square people what do you think? #engineering #software
