Compensation is not bad since the recruiters are so desperate to fill their jobs asap that you can ask for the world without any attention to internal compression.
It’s a dog eat dog world now. No longer is Gap the company that values or supports family or cares about employee engagement, loyalty or tenure. You move up by who you know and how you look. Forget about diversity in the workplace. That’s all lip service. If you’re white and tall, this place is perfect for you.
With all these layoffs, will there be more contracting roles opened up to fill the gaps? If I wanted to contract (FAANG for example), where could I see roles without having to go through third party recruiters?

To those who’ve quit their jobs and took a break due to burnout (i.e., not laid off), how did you explain the gap to future employers during interviews? Did you do anything during your break? I’m thinking of doing some consulting/contracting work while figuring things out.
