* PTO is pretty good * Can be great if you’re on a good team. * Not a bad job out of college
My review was a little more positive before I was reorged without any input as to where I would go * TC is below average for SWE. This was somewhat okay before RTO, now with mandatory 3 days a week in office, it’s inexcusable. * career development in software development/engineering is basically non-existent. * A lot of incompetent nontechnical leadership running technical teams. They tend to be micromanagers. Also a surprising amount of PMs that don’t know anything about their own projects. * on the topic of incompetent leadership, RTO has been abysmal. Not enough desks or parking in some locations. Something the workforce have warned about for a year+ * If you’re good at something, leadership will exploit you and overall disrespect your time. * Your 401k matching doesn’t vest at all until 3 years. There are actually quite a few interesting mechanisms that almost seem orchestrated to keep you stuck at GM.
GM stock has been tanking over the past year. When Cruise Automation's self driving GM cars hit production, we can expect a huge increase in GM's stock price, as long as the cars are successful. When is the best time to buy GM to hold for the long term? Should we wait for them to tank a bit more o...Read more

Ex Cruiser here, just received a letter stating that GM is withdrawing the offer to buy Cruise stock from current and former employees. That is 450k down the drain. Leadership (Kyle Vogt) lied to us employees about the facts of the accident Cruise had last month and Cruise also lied to regulators. Then, GM claimed our stock was still worth a lot, since they were still lying about the accident, sent us the Greek gift of vested stock, incurring a tax liability b...Read more
Interviewed at Cruise Automation and they're promising high base with GM stock. It doesn't seem that GM stock has had much growth in the last few years, but can the success of Cruise change that? Also is the work culture good?

Do you think that GM stock would catch up with Tesla in say next 5 years? Their announcement today seems ambitious but the stock has never been in attention over past years. On the other hand Tesla already pop 25x so it's unlikely its stock would be 5x in near future but can't tell.
Recruiter reached out for a data scientist position. They claimed that Cruise compensation and leveling is comparable to Google. Is this true? And how does stock rewards work since it is owned by GM? Currently L6 DS. TC 325k #Cruise @Cruise
