Great work life balance, I work a max of 20 hours a week. Great moonlighting policy.
We don’t hire the best talent. We hire talent that fills our diversity quotas and so you get a lot of people that feel they are being treated unfairly while making 300k+. Takes forever to ship anything. Very hard to get promoted past senior.
Do you have GitHub and/or open source contributions listed on your resume? Does the hiring teams at FAANG expect this or doesn’t matter because most of the interviewers don’t have time/care to research the candidate much? I’d assume most of the coding skills are evaluated during the on-site whitebo...Read more
I have applied for a bunch of positions in the past 6 months which I believe I was a good fit and keep getting automated rejections within a couple of days or the very next morning. The problem is not the rejection part but their quick judgment with no proper evaluation of background & resume. They...Read more
I have some personal projects on my GitHub that I made in college. They are all spaghetti code and I’m kind of ashamed of them. Does it do more harm than good to have it on my resume? Should I take the link off my resume?
My portfolio contains only a few personal projects written years ago, which is not "legit" open-source (in the sense of large-scale collaboration across hardcore OSS community). Have LC and "design Facebook in 15 minutes" questions taken over the candidate filtering process in 2019? I am currently ...Read more
Had a question for those experienced in the field/recruiters. I'm a current college student close to graduating and am working on creating a github that I can put on my resume. Wanted to ask the following questions: 1.) Should I include the commit history on the projects that are going to be visibl...Read more
I want to change jobs to work in AI. I’ve implemented networks in my free time and have solid knowledge. Problem is I have 0 YoE of AI in my resume. Any tips how I can increase my chances to get an interview? E.g. put projects on GitHub? Other ideas? Thank you!
I have 10 years of experience but never really did anything with github. How important is it to have an active github profile when applying for job? I saw some resumes for interns and new college grads and they all seem to have github link on the resume.
github senior: TC: 340k google L4: TC: 335k confluent senior: TC: 348k roughly 100k /year equity for all Yoe: 8.5 which is better to join considering resume, wlb, benefits, work quality etc
Any recommendations for 1 page or 2 page resume templates? Please comment Github links.#tech #resume TIA
For example, if i work at github, can I put "Microsoft (Github)" on my resume? This is just an example. What if I work at an unknown small subsidiary acquired by FAANG. It will obviously improve my resume if I put the parent company name.
So this has been a question on my mind for a while now. Some backstory to this - I have 5 YOE and a lot of experience in various roles. I joined a rotational program out of college so I had the opportunity to rotate through roles as an SWE, Cybersecurity Analyst, DE, DA, senior DA, and I’m currently...Read more

Hi guys Is it wise to put the take home projects on your resume? I mean you spent multiple hours and received no feedback. You can put the artifacts on github and github link on linkedin and resume. Should be ok if there was no NDA. YOE: 10 TC: 100k #faang #amazon #twitter #facebook #techcareer...Read more
If someone works for Bethesda, LinkedIn, GitHub or soon Blizzard, would it be acceptable for them to put Microsoft on their resume and LinkedIn profile instead of the actual subsidiary?
Happy holidays y’all, appreciate you taking your time to review my resume. I added a link to my github in the hidden area. Thanks a bunch. #engineering #software #swe #resume
Happy new years y’all! I took everyone’s feedback and created what I believe is a better version of the resume I had before. I would appreciate any feedback on how to improve it. Thanks y’all *The resume does have a link to my github. Just hid it for privacy. #engineering #software #swe #resume
Do interviewers look at details about the candidate like GitHub or project links? Is resume any useful after getting a call?
Hey Blinders, Anyone willing to do a GitHub referral for a SWE with 15+ YoE? I'll provide you with a link to resume and any other info you need. Thanks! ##referral #github
My github is just full of junk from college days probably not even worth including on resume. Should I spend time making my github look better with new and real projects or just LC since I have yoe now? TC 200k 3 yoe now at Bloomberg.
