I see Google is hiring some SWE and ML/AI engineers. What is the hiring bar looking like these days?
I was just curious to know what do you guys think on this? Lately, in last 2-3 months my LinkedIn is flooded with "starting a new position with Google". I understand the demand and supply, but of the people I know most of them were not able to get even a single offer before Google. Few were my proj...Read more
My friend got laid off in November, rejected from all the interviews, but cracked Google after a few months. People who had the recent experience of Google Interview, how is the bar now? Definitely, it's not gonna be like the last year I know.

How's that possible? Is the bar that low in the Seattle's office now? Is it a good time to chase easy Google...Read more
Blind had me believe that Google has very high bar for promos and hiring. Looking at dozens of laid off posts from Google it seems everyone was promoted regularly like at government organization and yet got laid off. Is Google really a difficult place to get promoted at by merit alone?
One of my friends whom i referred, is being called for an on-site interview. Does that mean google is starting onsite interviews again? Does that mean they will be very selectively hiring which mean raised hiring bar? I was planning on leaving google, with plans of coming back. Might get difficult...Read more
Has Google lowered its hiring bar? Is it easier to get into Google now than it was 5 years ago? 10 years ago? Curious to hear what Googlers think, especially those that have served in hiring committees and interview panels. TC 200k, 7 yoe (because someone will inevitably ask :p)
Read the news about Google slowing down hiring. Wondering if this will impact chances of getting through HC? I had my L3 interview last week and my application is currently under review. Now that headcount is limited, the reviewers might consciously or subconsciously raise the hiring bar to only ac...Read more
