Initial comp was great; refreshes are harder to get and you have no leverage
Very fragmented; too many product areas; lots of bureaucracy.

I was part of the recent round of layoffs by Google. I have been consulting lawyers about a potential EEOC claim around retaliation against strong/assertive women. However, the complaint won't have any impact unless its a collective action of atleast 100 complaints. I am curious if any of you feel ...Read more

I keep seeing her Cringedin posts on crappy topics such as “why product management should not be undervalued in a tech organization?” Wasn’t she fired recently from AWS for fraud? I had the privilege to work with her when she was working at Google as a contractor. She had multiple affairs only to ...Read more

We see complaints and know shitty things about working at Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, Oracle...... But I have never seen a thread about bad things at Google. Is it because Google is perfect, or because Google is well known to be the best place to work and people don’t speak up about bad things?

Now a days blind is full of things like, my dog left me, mental health, physical health, divorce, etc. I mean no DS, no $500k offer vs $700k offer poll, no google L6 vs amazon L7 questions, no manager complaint, no level up frustration.
Seems like almost all of the complaints about lowball offers are coming from L4/L5 Google equivalent roles Just like Microsoft where they pay crap for mid level and senior level roles but more competitively for other levels
When I was at FB, its blind channel was full of complaints about crappy code, bad wlb, high stress, etc. and folks advising to switch to Google, Airbnb etc. for a better life. I was there for 4 years, was fed up with the hectic life and moved to Google. Now on Google’s blind channel I see folks co...Read more

At Amazon we have a constant battle where 100% of employees feel underpaid/incorrectly paid based on external offers vs. tenured salaries in the same role. Do Google, meta, Microsoft, apple also feel the same or do you have better comp policies and lesser complaints given the refresher policies TC:...Read more
Over the past few months, I've noticed increasing amounts of negative sentiment towards Google on Blind. Sure, these complaints are probably justified. Lowball, downleveling, lower hiring bar (?), new perf rating, low career growth, etc. Genuine question though, what companies are actually better...Read more
Got reached out by a recruiter from google. Wanted to work more towards distributed systems, so told him I want to work infra and core tech such as spanner et which may have implied Gcp. Planning to move there. How good it’s as a community? Bit concerned with the rating that I saw on Google review. The most of the complaints are about the issue of frequent fire alarm. Can anyone who is currently living here confirm this?
