So I had passed the admission for Harvard CSE masters program but took Google offer as L4 instead. I have CS undergrad degree from UC Berkeley though. Did I make a mistake here? YOE after undergrad: 4 TC: 310k
Recently had Google offer L5, 370k and amazing opportunity at Stanford Ph.D with focus on AI and neuroscience. I think G L5 is also luck, I am not sure if I can get L5 if I interview again. I am pretty dumb tho I am not sure if I want to pursue career in academy. If I do not, I lose all money and ...Read more
I have a google interview in few days. Recruiter said 3 45 minutes interviews on CS fundamentals and 2 45 minutes interviews on data structures and algorithms. What type of questions do they ask on cs fundamentals? This is for software engineer position. Not sure of level.
If you already have a cs undergrad degree, is it worth going for Stanford masters when you have an offer from Google as L4?
Currently in Master's program at Stanford. Should I continue with Phd or go to google as a SWE? I have phd and swe offers.
Fast tracked through Google process straight to virtual onsite for L4. Interviews went well, recruiter said all positive or very positive feedback. Hiring committee says no hire. No CS degree, 5YOE (2 at AWS, 3+ at non-cloud startups) Recruiter is now appealing and asking for support from matched ...Read more

I’m interviewing at Google for an L7 PM role. I’m 15+ years into my career in software but I never had a CS major or a programming background. Have done fine as a founder and startup VP product as well as large company PM. BUT I’m a bit apprehensive about Google’s “CS required” mentality for PMs. A...Read more

We do a lot of challenging things and I feel I'm learning new things every day. Unfortunately for some or...Read more

So a CS degree doesn’t seem to matter for engineers, but what about EMs? I seem to hear that it doesn’t, but when I last interviewed at Google nearly all of the managers not only had a BS, mostly in CS or other technical subjects, but they also have advanced degrees. Just trying to figure out if the...Read more
Going for a SETI on-site next month (no, not search for extraterrestrials) and don’t have a CS degree. I think this has kept me from getting interviews with a lot of other companies requiring CS in the job listing. I always hear about how Google hires from all backgrounds, but curious to hear from ...Read more
Weird comparison but curious what Blind thinks. Both are one of the top of their type (Google for SWE roles, MIT for CS programs), so which one is more prestigious?
Recruiter said there will be 2 coding rounds, 2 CS fundamental rounds and 1 system design round. Any idea what is expected in CS fundamental rounds?
I just finished the Google Cyber Security program & have been using TryHackMe to get better at Linux CLI & W3Schools to get better at scripting in Python. I recently saw SPLUNK is offering a free course too. My hope is to one day become a Security Engineer or PenTester & I’ve been in IAM the past 4 ...Read more

Google is majorly being filled by folks from tier-2 colleges (including me). Google is not the place for raw brilliance of IITB grads anymore. Where are they all going? What is the new tier-1? TC: 32L (google new grad) #tech #iit #india #jee #google
This is possible in my department at Bloomberg, and Bloomberg pays up to $10k of tuition provided that one remains employed there for at least 2 years afterwards. Is it permitted and feasible to do this while working as a full time SWE at Google, and does Google pay the tuition?
Hi folks! I’ve been actively looking for referrals at the above mentioned companies. It appears there are scarce opportunities at #apple for Grads (in OS, Platform, Services), unless you’ve had an internship (which are in abundance relative to Grad places). Similarly goes for #google in Europe. ...Read more
