- Still a good company on paper with competitive comp, great benefits, and well positioned in the current shift to AI-focused technologies - Still has a lot of great people that are both incredibly talented and kind
The current climate of economic scarcity and aggressive shifts to AI is forcing Google to make some hard choices. I don't think it's that Google has fundamentally changed, but that it's shifted from a "peace time" state to a "war time" mentality. The problem with this shift is that those who thrive in war time mindsets are gaining influence and are likely to impact long term culture. There are still a lot of wonderful and resilient leaders in Google who are fighting for the culture, but they're burning out as business demands continue to mount.
Benefits are great, food is free and top notch, interesting work
Crap management, performance review process is subjective, mean girl culture
Many threads here make it sound like it’s very hard to get hired right now. Too much backlog in TM. If you fail, I’m assuming there’s a cool down for 1yr still. Is it a good idea to try to interview right now? Or just wait until things get better in H2 potentially? In other words, how high is the...Read more

Cracked Google L4, Facebook E4, Microsoft (62), and Netflix (Senior SDE) easily and got decent offers. Are they really that hard now? ...Read more

I had an onsite interview with Google a month ago. Since I am a new grad I was not asked system design questions. Just 5 coding questions. 3 mediums and 2 hards. on the 2 hard ones, I had to get a hit from the interviewer to solve them optimally and I missed a few edge-cases in one of the mediums. T...Read more
