The people are very experienced and there are a few interesting projects happening.
I have had both good managers and bad ones; te disheartening part is that there is no way we can complain about most bad ones. The hikes and appraisals are peanuts even with a great performance review; almost no career growth.

If T-bills can give me 5% risk-free and IBM pays 4% dividend with risk to your principal and no possibility of revenue growth, why in the world would anyone buy stocks like IBM? These should've dropped by 50% or more. Yet IBM's price is 40% higher than pre-COVID. Can I make a killing shorting all ...Read more
In a move straight from the HP playbook... 90k employees and $20B in business being spin off in 2021. This accounts for 1/3 of IBM’s headcount and revenue. snap $118b ibm $121b snap revenue: $2.5b ibm revenue: $73b maybe snap is the real deal! rip to IBM shareholders. it must hurt having a battleship of a company with 300k+ employees and get passed up by a photo chat app. is this justified? 🤔 TC 277
- when Snowflake's revenue is 500m vs IBM's 73b? - when IBM is in a thousand different product areas whereas Snowflake is a single product - when IBM itself sells a direct carbon-copy of Snowflake's product 😆

I bought a few hundred shares of IBM in the high 150s, low 160s. Bought on Quantum computing hype. Any thoughts on what types of revenue streams ibm is working on to expand their top line? Their balance sheet is sexy but not mag 7 sexy.
AI is going to eat into ad revenue and turn Google into the next IBM and a slow death. TC way less than Sundar
Stock is up 8% after-hours following a strong revenue growth in all of their segments powered by hybrid cloud and AI adoption. For 2024, IBM is projecting a free cashflow of 12B with strong dividend growth. If the so called quantum computing picks up, can they return to their past glory? CEO Arvind ...Read more
As an ex IBM employee I really feel pity for the current situation of IBM. TBH, it was really the best time of my life with respect to the quality of work as well as work life balance. Then I joined the Rat Race. IBM revenue has been declining for the last 10 years. Do you think they can fight back?...Read more

As tech gets laid off are we going to see an uptick in people working at tier 3 & 4 companies with average TC? There is articles everyday favouring one over other. Heard that azure had lead in last quarter followed by AWS and Ibm in terms of revenue but not sure about will they be able to hold it. General perception is AWS is better in cloud offering and Google has better AI stack. Azure is super strong seco...Read more
Think this year had showcased aws iaas while their own cloud had nothing to show. IBM finance only understands mature to declining businesses and starve iaas only to complain that revenue isn't growing. I'm getting the feeling the final play in this book is shutdown. Anyone else seeing this?
I have a databricks offer. 185k and 70k stocks. I have 4 yoe. The ceo has been courting me (daily calls) for the last week or so. They just passed $100M in revenue and are looking for a late 2019 IPO. They also had a acquisition offer from IBM for $9B which they declined. Current TC is 210K. Shoul...Read more
