Great work life balance in my department. You get a lot of extra perks
Jane is not growing as a company which makes career growth hard and layoffs frequent
Compensation, benefits, work, smart people, used to be very collaborative, now occasionally collaborative. Making Markets is fun and interesting to study and learn about. In earlier days prioritizing work life balance was done well as it was needed for ambitious workers.
Silos, secrecy, lack of transparency, no distribution of common tools leading to tools redundancy, project ideation easily and often are shot down, egos, work life balance has gotten worse over the years.
Have a first round coming up, no idea how to prepare - the mock interviews / Glassdoor questions all seem doable however most of the posts are “no offer”. How does one get hired at Jane Street ? 😅 TC: 370k YOE: 2.5 #engineering #software #hft #janestreet
How hard is it for a new grad(undergraduate) to join Jane Street as a software engineer or a trader. I've heard that they are pretty selective(only Ivy League graduates) when it comes to joining the tech team. Can anyone give me their first hand experience of the hiring procedure. How does the inter...Read more

I want to figure out if I’d belong there and how I’d be evaluated / stack up. Would move from CA if I...Read more

Jane Street recruiter requested a phone interview for software intern position next summer. But I couldn’t find much on the web as to how to prepare. Possibly they don’t offer interview opportunities that often. Appreciate Jane Street people can chip in.
