- kind working team… genuine and authentic - incredibly smart and thoughtful people at all levels, on most teams - interesting opportunity space with tangible problems to solve and high potential for innovation - thoughtful focus on customers/users on most teams, with more and more company investment in how to do this effectively - recent investments in strategically aligning the organization and creating clarity in operations to support initiatives are beginning to help
Executives and senior leaders are terrible at investing in, growing and empowering the leaders under them, rather than holding them accountable and valuing their expertise and insights, they tend to bottleneck, micromanage and ignore the smart and thoughtful people they have hired. This has a three fold effect of eroding confidence in leadership overall, alienating working teams, and causing a culture of distrust, speculation and poor communication. Because everyone is “so nice”, and leadership is taking the tactic of micromanaging, a lot of things that could be worked through are left unsaid, and candor is absent at all levels. If Lyft can rightsize the above, by working with their leaders rather than around them; and investing in more leaders that are held accountable to contribute, drive, communicate and deliver …it will absolutely find itself on the right path.
Lyft has exciting roles in Dev, Dev Test, QA, Dev Ops, PM etc. One of the top places to work with great culture, work and pay. There are full-time, intern roles present in US and Canada. PM me if interested.
Was going to apply to a swe2 job at Lyft with a referral, but disappaeared :( Question: Should I just wait til another swe2 posting comes up at Lyft? Or apply to senior positions w/ referral? My concern with applying to senior positions: even if i get into senior loop somehow, and plan to get down...Read more
I am applying for job at lyft but unfortunately my school is not available in the list on their job portal and hence not able to apply. Can someone help ?
Everyone who took lyft 300k+ offers that we’re mostly stock got bamboozled by lyft. The supposedly high valuation they had was a lie, this stock could hit 30$, in which case some of you probably saw a hit on TC instead of the big raise you thought. It’s also why google doesn’t match paper money, it’...Read more

Lyft was the first company in my last 10 years where I had to do stupid ass useless basic ass job (edit, disclaimer: 10 YOE, 1.5y at Lyft). Hell if I honestly tell anyone what was I doing back there I'd be straight up downleveled, or even worse, won't even have a chance to get an offer. I am trying...Read more
I have a few job offers. Out of the options, I'm undecided between twitter and lyft. I am very well aware of the fact that twitter, as a company, is not doing well. however I'm intrigued by their engineering quality and the scale of work. Lyft on the other hand, has the main advantage of being a pre...Read more

What is the point of laying off 25% of your staff and having job openings a month later?
At the companies where you have been employed, do you know anyone who worked more than 40 hours per week and still got PIPed, laid off, or fired?
In either direction... How did it go? Were you escorted out? Were there legal threats? I don't really plan on doing it but I am legit curious how they reacted. Especially since employees of one probably know business strategies and plans.
Software Engineer, new grad Could someone inside please contact the recruiter?
Hey, I am looking to switch to another company within Seattle. I would appreciate if someone would like to refer me! I have tried messaging recruiters on LinkedIn but didn’t really help. Thanks!
