Lots of competent colleagues; you will work with good engineers who can get things done. The infra is pretty good which enables you to be productive. Perks are great and all-cash compensation is pretty nice too.
Management in engineering is so-so from my experience, really good explicit communication but also not willing to put the right process in place to make planning and execution as efficient as it could be. The company is changing a lot right now as it transitions from the old no-level world to a more typical organization with lots of juniors, fair number of seniors, and a few staff+. I think the change will be for the best in the long run but the culture hasn't quite adapted yet.
About 2% of US work force and more coming in the near future. Don’t think a lot of engineering was impacted though 🤷♂️ Public info: https://twitter.com/rfaughnder/status/1526624161300246528?s=21&t=wHSmlmbdyVmSyrTBl8N0XA #tech #netflix
Small round but not a bad sign nonetheless https://www.gamespot.com/articles/netflix-announces-layoffs-and-restructuring/1100-6522482/
Netflix pays around 300k cash for a SWE with 3yoe and around 500k+ for 6yoe+. Then why don't I see a lot of ppl on blind trying to get into Netflix as compared to FAAG? Isn't it all about TC here on blind, then why no/less Netflix chatter in here!?
Netflix? I’m in talks with Netflix and wondering pros/cons about the structure and company culture? Anyone w/experience? Any insight would help.
Netflix role is remote. Google is in-office once a week. Google vesting is front-loaded 38/32/20/10. The numbers are rough estimates for Google as the recruiter hasn’t confirmed specifics as they have to talk to the “comp committee” first. Netflix is all cash. Both teams have cool projects with Net...Read more
Considering Netflix stocks going downhill with its stocks and it doesn’t pay in RSUs how does it manage employee compensation based on growth? In this case does it reduce cash ? Edit ✍️
Considering two offers: Netflix: $575k all cash - no levels. But position and responsibility sounds a lot like Staff at companies like Twitter, Square, LinkedIn Stripe: Offer for L3(Sr Swe). Total comes out to $440k/year. Stripe’s RSU grant is determined each year so no 4 year grants anymore. Thi...Read more

I have a family friend that works at Netflix and when asked for a referral she said that they dont hire young people very often and I need more experience. I’m an SDE 1 at Amazon, been there for 1.5 years (on the track for a promotion but can’t stand the culture) with 3yoe would love to get a refer...Read more
Brilliant idea, sleeping on the job, let others catch up, losing market share, panic, bad decisions after bad decisions, layoffs, just exist. #netflix #uber

This is a data point from the most recent levels.fyi Salary Stream email (so most likely authentic): Netflix SWE $890K TC - $850K base, $40K stock options YOE - 18 Years at Netflix - 4 No point with this post, just amazed and bored on a Wednesday night
Current TC:$225k ish Have two offers both at L4 from Netflix and Snowflake and both at $320k TC what's the better company to join for someone with 5 years of experience? Netflix is remote, Snowflake is hybrid 2 days in office. Would be joining billing orgs for both places.
Got offers from both. Sr. Swe, YOE: 13 Current level: 5b current TC: 450 Stripe offer (L3): 190k base, 1M RSU, 20% bonus Netflix offer: 575k Netflix is slightly higher than stripe, but stripe could be 100B company in the making (also the personal/career growth that comes along with it) In terms ...Read more
I have my call sceduled for next week to go over the offer. I have a competing offer from another FANG company. Is it possible they will offer less because of covid and the market being low ?
