Lots of competent colleagues; you will work with good engineers who can get things done. The infra is pretty good which enables you to be productive. Perks are great and all-cash compensation is pretty nice too.
Management in engineering is so-so from my experience, really good explicit communication but also not willing to put the right process in place to make planning and execution as efficient as it could be. The company is changing a lot right now as it transitions from the old no-level world to a more typical organization with lots of juniors, fair number of seniors, and a few staff+. I think the change will be for the best in the long run but the culture hasn't quite adapted yet.
I know Netflix won't respond to my resume but still I'm planning on applying anyway. Curious which AWS technologies/APIs do teams at Netflix use typically e.g. EC2, S3, ElastiCache etc? #netflix #aws #jobs
Netflix sucks in term of user features. is Netflix stopped working on new features and only focused on adding random movies/shows. No wonder why I decided to quit Netflix after 2-3 months.
Netflix looks to be a fully finished product. All the complexity is handled by AWS since the service is fully cloud powered. People have Netflix for newly released shows not for the engineering features… makes you wonder what their engineers actually do? I feel Netflix can be effectively run by cons...Read more
We know that Netflix has this amazing recommendation system, but it seems to be far behind Prime Video in terms of Computer Vision. On Prime, you can pause at any instant and get character/actor info, fun facts etc. Noticed Netflix hiring some CV folks recently. What does CV at Netflix look like? ...Read more
I had a really fantastic year at AWS. Joined as an L6 PMT-ES. Wrote 2 PRFAQs from scratch and launched 2 big products (launched at re:Invent) and a few iterative features as well. I am now feeling that I won’t be able to grow more next year. Too early for promo to L7. This makes me want to look for...Read more

I’m not talking about exceptions where you get to work on exciting new R&D projects. I’m talking about the majority of the FAANGMULA software engineers who just add features and fix bugs to existing code. For reference: FAANGMULA = Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, Google, Microsoft, Uber, Lyft, A...Read more
Just trying to understand what kind of issues / limitations you face while watching VR/ 360 videos on Netflix or YouTube. Are there features that you would love to have ?
People who work at netflix: do you feel like the ux team and product owners are not listening to devs for new features and redesigns to implement? Being apart if a FAANG company is pretty serious. I feel like they should be reimagineering the most futuristic experience. Has the borderline vegitat...Read more
I'm interested in a SDET position and I'm wondering if the role is as respected as a SWE at Netflix. This role is the closest match to my skillset in terms of language, tools and libraries. I'm currently a hybrid engineer, meaning I develop new features and am also responsible for automation.
10 YOE, looking for 180k TC + benefits. Can send along my portfolio. I've designed 50+ products/features for over 425 million users worldwide across product, UX, mobile and web design at/for companies like Mozilla, Angie's List, Capital One, and the Knot. The interface is horrible now and the selection doesn't seem as good. Interface: too many "features" got added and that makes it slow as fuck to scroll through the shows. The autoplay of trailers, and the extra large cards for Netflix original content in particular makes it really annoying. Overal...Read more
Netflix SWE here, previously at other FAANG companies. Last time I was switching jobs, I spent a long time on research. Netflix came up with some advantages (pay, freedom & responsibility culture), but with some possible drawbacks as well (high pressure, quick to fire, bad work life balance). I wan...Read more

I think it is very bad. It does not have basic features like best rated one or awarded one, and so on. And also I do not like that Netflix changed the original cover of a movie or show. They think they are doing really good at this and I just saw the opposite
As ardent of an Apple fanboy I’m, I struggle to see the point of MacBooks and what they consider is groundbreaking. I love iPhones, Apple Watches, AirPods etc. and how they constantly innovate year over year to delight customers (notably, safety features like fall detection, crash detection, satell...Read more
