Lots of competent colleagues; you will work with good engineers who can get things done. The infra is pretty good which enables you to be productive. Perks are great and all-cash compensation is pretty nice too.
Management in engineering is so-so from my experience, really good explicit communication but also not willing to put the right process in place to make planning and execution as efficient as it could be. The company is changing a lot right now as it transitions from the old no-level world to a more typical organization with lots of juniors, fair number of seniors, and a few staff+. I think the change will be for the best in the long run but the culture hasn't quite adapted yet.
How performance based PIP works at Netflix ? is it once every year or more ? Is there a fix % to meet same like amazon ? #netfix TC: 330K
Opened LinkedIn and see tons of posts of people leaving Netflix. Actually I am seeing similar posts for a couple weeks already. They always post some nonsense about how sad they to leave. Is it PIP time at Netflix? Company outlook is not good, but stock are going up. #tech #pip
I got pipped from Amazon and still have PTSD from it and trash mental health. I took the severance. My friend referred me to Netflix, and I was reading about dream team. How bad is it? From the surface, it feels like jumping from the frying pan into the fire. TC - 0 (unemployed) YoE - 6
Netflix is a dream company for me. Interesting tech space, top tier all cash compensation. The only turn off is apparently Netflix fires even more aggressively than Amazon? But does anyone know if Netflix has a firing quota like Amazon or is it only if you perform poorly? And do you get chances to ...Read more
Do you guys foresee a Netflix documentary on Amazon PIP culture, and exposing how it is affecting thousands of engineers mental health and increasing anxiety levels? I just saw documentary on Wells Fargo and how their employees were forced to have fake credit card applications to achieve their targe...Read more
Is it true that working at Netflix means high TC (almost all in cash), but also a constant risk of PIP and being fired? Asking because I am close to an offer, but recently read through the Blind company reviews. A consistent theme was that Netflix has a culture of firing people (see below). SOURCE...Read more
It's an irony that companies in FAANG that strive on fear based culture have seen their stocks flat or drop significantly in this market. Amazon has to manipulate their earnings by including rivian unrealized stock appreciation & start buying back their stocks to stop the stock from deflating. engi...Read more
Engineering is solid. Business is deaf to customer feedback. Alright have a good weekend.
On their Netflix culture page: https://jobs.netflix.com/culture it says one of their 5 main points is “keep only our highly effective people” Does this mean they PiP a lot?
I am a new grad and I was curious to what are the key differences between keeper test and pip. I have seen some folks seeing keeper test in a positive sense. Would love to know what blind thinks on this. TC: 205k YOE: <; 1 year #netflix #amazon #tech
I know all these companies have cut throat culture. But amazon posts here are pip heavy. I see very less posts from FB or Nflx. But users could be less from Nflx or fb in blind. Does this formula sounds right? Amzn > Nflx > fb with rate of piping
I remember reading about vicious house cleaning at Netflix.
Stonks dropping at 9.8 metres per second per second Agree? TC: 🥜 #tech #faang
Apple = bad wlb, low pay, forced rto, no free food Amazon = pip and layoff, bad wlb, forced rto, no free food Meta = bad wlb, layoff, zuck slave Google = no prestige, 3day rto Netflix = bad wlb

TPM role at Microsoft versus Netflix. Which one should I consider? Looking for a WLB. I heard Netflix has aggressive PIP culture. Is that true? TC: Not yet. Have given onsites.
Can someone share the generic reasons why people are put on pip in Meta, Google, Amazon etc? #tech #netflix #Apple #Microsoft #Cisco #walmart #linkedin
