I've found a lot of options to move around, learn new things, and advance my career.
I would appreciate more of a focus on improving efficiency/ease of use of tools that help support our day-to-day work functions.
My Gf is a CS student in her junior year. She received two internship offers: 1. Northrop Grumman. On AI/ML team 2. Big name research school (Caltech, MIT, Princeton, Penn, ...) laboratory. Doing web development. What would be the better choice for her long term career development?
>Can you create a tier list of best companies to work at as a SWE, based on overall factors like total compensation, prestige, benefits, potential advancement, coolness of tech / product, work-life balance? Create 5 tiers, from tier 0 to tier 5, with tier 0 being best obviously. Don’t make tier 0
Title- and same question for Northrop Grumman! I see some positions at both that are a good fit, I was wondering if folks there could be able to refer if they actually would hire full remote (the specific positions indicate they can be, but not sure if that is true in practice). Also wondering if y...Read more
Trying to help my cousin who is a new grad with an Industrial Technology degree navigate the job application journey. He is Non-Destructive Testing certified as well. Are there any entry level new grad programs at Spacex, Northrop Grumman, Boeing, etc.? He is eager and open to anything to set a fo...Read more

I just want to minimize the number of hours I have to work while meeting the bar for my team. In other words, I ...Read more

For those who want a Tl;dr (summary): Isnt FANG preference based on being an employee for the rest of you life??? And therefore assumes you want to spend your life constantly working for someone else and climbin by ladders?? I asked a similar question a little earlier but, I want to drill down fur...Read more
I keep seeing engineers here post about how working at a defense contractor is 'career suicide'. I am planning on applying to big tech in 1-2 years since this is my first Software Engineering role. I recently switched over from Mechanical Engineering. That's another thing... will my resume look bad...Read more

Let’s get this outta the way: TC: 98k YOE: <1 (3 months) I’m currently a “full-stack” SWE at Northrop Grumman. I’m not entirely sure a long-term career as a full-stack dev is a good choice. I don’t feel like I’m mastering any part of the stack. I feel okay at both BE and FE but not an expert on

I have a few offers but I’m having trouble deciding based on a number of factors. I’m slightly older due to a previous career but have about 2-3YOE in software. Due to the career change I’ll be doing a fellowship before transitioning to full-time which is why many factors will be up in the air. But ...Read more
