Top pay, bonuses have been excellent the past 5+ years. Good office benefits (lunch, drinks). Many of intelligent people. High growth company.
It’s become a lot more corporate in the past few years, with red tape and many approvals needed for projects. Expect to work a lot of weekends if you’re on the infrastructure side.
All my life I have been in the tech space in FANG or startups. Now this recruiter from Optiver has reached out and says that comp is top of the market. Can someone who has worked there share how is optiver for engineers? What sort of interviews (L7) they conduct? How is the culture over there? #op...Read more
Anyone have any idea how SWE at Optiver is like, particularly in comparison to big tech/FAANG like Google and Facebook? Trying to decide for new grad position. Tech feels like a safer route, particularly with the coronavirus going on, but doing well at Optiver might have a lot of upside, and I might...Read more
Optiver is currently offering me 100 marbles for the bonus part of their compensation for a software developer position. Is that reasonable ? I have heard entry level traders get the same number as well. YOE 6
Anyone have thoughts on Optiver/worked there previously? What's the career growth like if you work at a firm like this (as a software dev, not trader)? Is it easy to transition back to dev at a tech company? Thinking about interviewing there.
I have new grad offers from Optiver (240TC, Chicago) and Robinhood (200TC, Menlo Park), both for SWE. I'd like to gather some feedback on which you would choose, especially based on where I would learn the most and which would make me most marketable for my next job. Would it be hard to find a job i...Read more
Hi, I was wondering if some people who work or worked at Optiver especially the Chicago office would share the thoughts on the WLB, compensation, how the bonus structure, and career growth? Currently interviewing with them for a new grad role. Thank you! #optiver #tech #finance TC: 64k (intern)

Comparing 2 offers: Databricks: 380k - half cash and half equity Optiver: 450k - all cash (base and bonus) Both are same level for software engineer (L4) and I have 3 YOE. I like the work I will be doing at both places. I do care about career progression, compensation growth, and the prestige of t...Read more
Anyone interview there recently? Not much on glass door but seems like hackerrank, then on-site where you review hackerrank, system design, and behavioral interview. But what I see conflicting information on is white boarding. Some people had white boarding and some people just had system design. I...Read more
Considering applying for Optiver for a security engineering position. I know that the HFT field doesn't have a reputation for WLB, but optiver seems to have somewhat positive reputation. How do the working hours look for people there, both for the particular roles they are in and security engineers?...Read more
I've heard that Optiver only gives temporary 1 year contracts for new hires after which only a certain percentage get their contracts renewed. Does anyone know what the percentage is for swe? Also is there anyone here who didn't get their contracts renewed? If so, what feedback did you get? Were you...Read more
I’ve searched far and wide for deeper insight into Optivers SWE interviews and I cannot find any specifics. I know HackerRank test, white board sessions, ect but nothing on the type of questions. I’m thinking of interviewing their soon and I’d like to prep for what to expect. It’s doesn’t seem wide...Read more
1. How many marbles do you get as a SWE at different levels (L3-7)? I heard it goes roughly 50, 100, 200 for the first three levels, but I'm not sure. 2. How long does it usually take to move up a level? How do these levels map to Google or FB? 3. How much are marbles usually worth on an average y...Read more
Have offers from both for full-time trader roles but am unsure of what to do. Optiver TC ~320k in Chicago, CitSec TC ~500k while in NY. I enjoyed Optiver's culture but the first-year compensation at Citadel is hard to pass up. Not super sure what growth looks like at CitSec but the transparency at O...Read more
What is comp like at Optiver in Amsterdam? How is it structured for SWE/quant/HWE? Thanks. TC: 581 YOE: 25ish
Has anyone here interviewed with Optiver before? Searched reddit, here, and glass door..couldn't find anything too helpful. it's a trading firm so I'd imagine their focus is on sorting, searching, and parsing large datasets efficiently. but if anyone's interviewed with them before and has examples ...Read more
