Want to leave my current company and find a place with good culture and wlb. Anyone can suggest?
Folks are fuming because we're now officially a PIP company. Given the low stock performance, instead of laying off and giving severance, they're going to put people into PIP and fire. It was officially announced today. The reasoning? Because "good enough is just not good enough".. Stay away from t...Read more
PIP is inevitable and some also make a bell curve mandatory. Let’s find out the stress levels in each company and make a resource for others. 1980s General Electric 10% mandatory URA The legendary inventor of mandatory URA Amazon 40% Focus (hidden) Dev Plan? 20% Pivot (PIP) 6% mandatory URA (deci...Read more
Any tech companies out there that dont force a % on perf management? Share them in comments. Perf management is necessary, but managing people out with a quota is controversial to me. It’s probably helping increase talent density but also a cutthroat culture and you might argue that it affects ment...Read more
Imagine an L4 Googler who got pipped due to politics. The catch is that he created an open source library that has millions of downloads. He also graduated from UC Berkeley in eecs degree with industry 6 yoe. Will this guy be fine applying for senior positions elsewhere
Let’s collect what’s the forced pip quota for all companies. I’ll start. Twitter: 5% Per quarter. Makes up 18.54% due to compounding. Thanks to fomosapien for the calculation A month ago the quota was declared to be 2.5% per quarter but looks like it changed. TC 220k YOE 4 Twitter 5% quarterly,...Read more

I’m hitting one year mark at Snap and can’t wait to get out of this shit show. Overworking and burned out. Toxic leadership. Company has no future either I got Meta, Amazon, Google, Microsoft offers earlier last year but they’re all having some sort of PIP now. I can take a 50-80k pay cut yearly t...Read more
I am finally getting offers soon but those companies are not popular options in Blind community. Company A already laid off and is likely to have more follow-up layoff. But its WLB is great. Company B has horrible WLB and PIP culture. Assuming the offers from both companies are similar, which one wo...Read more
I’m fucking done with this shit! A few team mates are getting pipped and it’s absolutely ruining our already declining culture. #swe #software #engineering #pip
This is not a troll. If you read through this and can't directly help, please at least give this post a "like" to get more visibility. Short version: I am new to a company, have a newborn baby and got literally presented to PIP just over the 90 day mark (not devlist, not warning... actual pip). I ha...Read more
Hi, For someone who’s on track to pip, what are the companies you suggest (slightly easy and currently hiring). I don’t think I can crack the big names in such short time. Also I am afraid to settle for a much lower TC company as that can make the case obvious.
Amazon, FB, citadel, snap... Who else has a pip culture? Meaning they stack ranking their employees and certain bottom percents got pip
Amazon is without a doubt the most famous company to have a serious PIP problem. What other companies lurk out there that are big on the PIP? Do they give warnings, severance, only happen at a certain time of year? Apparently it’s a problem at Twilio too

Hi blind, I got PIPed from Amazon and my morale has been extremely low since then. I don't fear that I won't be able to clear interviews, but I fear that I won't be able to work once I get in. I come from Electronics and Telecommunications background and possess very little knowledge relevant to f...Read more
PIP culture has infested tech very badly including the wlb greats like Google, Salesforce, LinkedIn, Twitter. This is not sustainable. I am looking for companies with no PIP culture where there are no quotas for PIP, dev plan etc.
