Lots of competent colleagues; you will work with good engineers who can get things done. The infra is pretty good which enables you to be productive. Perks are great and all-cash compensation is pretty nice too.
Management in engineering is so-so from my experience, really good explicit communication but also not willing to put the right process in place to make planning and execution as efficient as it could be. The company is changing a lot right now as it transitions from the old no-level world to a more typical organization with lots of juniors, fair number of seniors, and a few staff+. I think the change will be for the best in the long run but the culture hasn't quite adapted yet.
Their page says DC has a small team for legal and public efforts. Can a SWE join Netflix and transfer there or directly start there?
Out of curiosity, which Netflix office does Music Services (Legal and Public Policy) work from? My apartment is right across the street by the "ICON" office and not sure if that is the same building the team works from in LA. Had a screen with the recruiter for a Music/MarComm role but forgot to ask...Read more
Talking about the major animation studios as a whole too- Disney, Netflix, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, etc. When are people going back in? We wanna move out of LA, but don't know if we should yet.
I understand Netflix has production studio in LA. They also have few backend SWE. Can anyone tell us what is like to work there? Is TC similar to SFO area or a lot lower?
Current TC:$225k ish Have two offers both at L4 from Netflix and Snowflake and both at $320k TC what's the better company to join for someone with 5 years of experience? Netflix is remote, Snowflake is hybrid 2 days in office. Would be joining billing orgs for both places.
By the title, I mean a company that can offer decent TC and still provide job guarantee during recession. Meta freeze Twitter freeze Robinhood layoffs Netflix crashing G - return to office MSFT - return to office Apple - return to office Amazon - full remote, high base pay, retail business can su...Read more
Netflix role is remote. Google is in-office once a week. Google vesting is front-loaded 38/32/20/10. The numbers are rough estimates for Google as the recruiter hasn’t confirmed specifics as they have to talk to the “comp committee” first. Netflix is all cash. Both teams have cool projects with Net...Read more

Now that some companies are forcing employees back into the office, this thread serves to be a list of companies that treats employees like grown adults and lets them work fully remote. Please add to the list! I will update periodically. FULLY-REMOTE FIRST - the company is mainly fully remote posi...Read more
What’s the current RTO/WFH situation like at Netflix (los gatos office)? TC 300k ish YoE 4
Hey, my org is asking to come to office even if I have joined Amazon as virtual employee, and they are asking to relocate where most of the team resides. Curious, what are my options ? And how they can force me to come to office though I joined as remote employee? Is it legal? Any thoughts or optio...Read more
I see a bunch of Netflix folks going over to Disney and getting promoted (Netflix IC to D+ manager, Netflix manager to D+ director, Netflix director to D+ VP). I’ve also heard the pay is pretty bad though relative to Netflix. Are people mostly going to Disney for the title and not the comp? Also, ...Read more
Got L4 offer for Netflix with $360k TC and a startup offer as with 3 YOE. The startup is a series B firm, worth about $1.5B, and has a bunch of strong engineering talent. The startup would need to roughly 2.5x to match my Netflix TC. Here are my arguments for and against the startup: + More interes...Read more
Most the open roles I see for Netflix are listed as fully in office. Does Netflix have any flexibility with remote hires? As in, maybe up to hiring manager discretion? I haven’t seen much news about them in regard to RTO. #remotework #wfh
Netflix just announced the opening of a Toronto office as it's first Canadian office. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/netlfix-office-toronto-1.6004457 I wonder what kind of opportunities this will bring. #netflix #canada #toronto
Is Netflix in New York back in the office 5 days a week or is it a hybrid situation? If it’s hybrid, what days do you have to be in the office?
