Can’t think of any due to executive level leadership. It was once a great company that was culture and people driven. That has been gutted with 2 major layoffs in the last 4 years.
With recent 12k layoffs, have to do more with less. Incredibly stretch goals that are unattainable which makes me think they are using it to justify further layoffs. Recent change in RTO policy = 5 days a week.
Hey techers! May your code work smooth in prod! 😁 Joining UPS soon on tech lead role, want to understand what all sort of good things and privileges to work with UPS. I am aware about recent 12k layoffs lolz But it’s worth to try since I don’t have any better option as of now. Thank you guys! Yo-...Read more
As someone who holds crypto as a long term investment, I'm greedy (or bored) enough to try and make profit from the roller coster movements in Bitcoin and ETH and price fluctiuations. I tried to sell and buy when the price drops but I always get burned by unexpected pumps. I tried Algorithmic tradin...Read more
For example, using Tinder to find hook ups or friend with benefits, not for money just for sex , will you break up with her or continue loving her? #relationships #marriage #dating
A wyze recruiter contacted me. Anyone who works there, hows it been working there? hows WLB, culture, leadership? How does the comp compare to other start ups in the area? and benefits? 12 yrs exp.
Do you know any up and coming or hot start ups that also have good health benefits and vacation policy, good immigration and legal benefits etc. It’s a paradox I know. I love the idea of working for a small company that works like a startup but can’t fully give them benefits or (necessities now) of...Read more
Have you noticed more roles being advertised as Data Analysts instead of Data Scientists? Even in new startups/scale ups (Non FAANG) that have good tech stacks which previously hired DS but now have an expectation that the DA will need to know Machine Learning? Benefit for them is that DA’s get pa...Read more
Recently we have seen so many start-ups turning unicorn and buybacks/IPO in the news. Wanted to know how many from the community actually benefited from it. In case you got lucky, please share the details :) #esops #equity #IPO #startup #india TC : 90 LPA YoE : 11
I want to hear from people who worked for start ups that later got acquired by bigger tech giants. How did the acquisition/merger affect your career/life ? Where there layoff ? How did it affect your title, TC + benefits ? TC - 180k
Currently a SWE, thinking about moving to Sales Engineer/Solutions Architect. What are the benefits and drawbacks of going into that role at a big company vs start-up? I assume big companies pay more, how do start-ups prevent their best people from being poached?
Worth the career move? Never dealt with start-ups. Let alone a "very late stage start up" as the recruiter put it. Any potential benefits or downsides I should be aware of while dealing with them? TC 87k
$120K at a design agency (contract position, no benefits) in San Francisco I have 3 YOE at small start-ups and am excited to join a larger company. Should I keep interviewing? It's Q4 so I'm nervous hiring will slow down significantly.
Per subject. Have you guys ever felt your personal career development is not your company/management cares about. What the high ups think value-adding doesn’t benefit your growth. Besides leaving, any other thought? Advice? Also, is it normal to feel so. Thanks blinds.

Looking at two roles: Google: - L6 customer Engineer - 187K base - 80K bonus - 150K GSUs over 4 years (USD) - great benefits - 10k sign on bonus Startup: - no level, Field Sales Engineer - 230K base - 70K bonus - stock options of around $300K over 4 years - potential to IPO - looking at completi...Read more
EDIT: turns out they do offer maternity leave. 3 months paid. Thanks all! I’m now in my 2nd year as a SWE & I’m thinking of joining a series B start up. They’re offering me a good total comp & would allow me to work from other countries which has been a goal of mine for some time. They have very ba...Read more
It feels like every hiring manager complains that hiring is hard. This even seems true at FAANG, and the “start ups” like lyft, and uber. — let’s ask a couple questions, about why hiring is hard: 1. Is the work not fulfilling? 2. Are you paying a competitive salary? 3. Are the benefits bad? 4. Are ...Read more
Hello all! Im genuinely interested to hear your thoughts and strategies here. The focus of this discussion is maximizing networth, not necessarily TC or job benefits, etc. So, from your perspective (talking only networth maximization), why don't more people have the strategy to work at a company w...Read more
Been applying to positions in the tech industry. I’ve been at 2 NASA centers as a contractor: JPL- 80k now Langley- 55k (no bonus, no annual raises, bare bones benefits) 9 YOE Bachelors in Project Management It’s definitely time for a change, as I’m finding it hard to make a living with such a l...Read more
I'm interviewing at a growth stage (Series B) start-up that seems to be doing well. Recently, the recruiter was explaining benefits to me and mentioned that they don't yet offer bonuses (stock or cash). I wasn't sure what to make of this comment - I've only worked at later stage+ companies (Series D...Read more
I'm a top performer. I'm well compensated and treated well. But I'm totally overworked relative to my peers and higher ups. This in itself wouldn't be so bad, but the politics and productivity theater of this industry is weighing on me. I'm also sick of the endless supply of people with no life outs...Read more
