You get to work with some of the best folks in tech, at least you used to. There are interesting problems to solve at scale.
Leadership used to be highly energetic, smart people with vision. The current CEO has slowly replaced those with corporate drones with limited tech experience who can mostly run a tape loop of asking for KPIs and keep folks busy with useless tactical reviews. Innovation has basically stalled and endless slide shows of almost the tiniest details have taken over.
Some idiot from #uber asked me this question on one of my coding rounds: "Compress an image represented as a 2D matrix." That's all he gave me. I had to fumble around for ~20min just to scope it out. And no, this interview wasn't for some image processing specialist position. It was for a genera...Read more
Thought I would share my onsite experience with dropbox and uber. Currently at FB E6 with TC ~570k. FB (7 YOE) is good but wanted to give a shot outside and see how things are (also nothing wrong to keep to those interview skills sharp) Dropbox interview process is fairly straight forward. Phone sc...Read more

Interviewed with Uber a couple of weeks ago as part of hiring event. Had 2 coding rounds, 1 system design and 1 hiring manager / bar raiser. I was expecting one programming exercise and one coding (whiteboarding kind) but to my surprise they both were similar in terms of the style and even the kind...Read more

Earlier this week I failed an onsite with Uber for L3/L4 SWE - 5 rounds (2 coding, 1 system design, 2 behavioral). I had one coding round that did not go optimally. Although it was a problem I solved and seen before in leetcode, my interviewer (one of the most senior engineers on the team) kept int...Read more

Interview recruiter at Uber has not been a good experience. The recruiter has a tendency to commit to a specific time schedule and miss out on it. On initial meeting, recruiter was 15 minutes late to just tell me that she wishes me luck and will be sending me slides to prepare for. After 6h+ of in...Read more
Everything went fine before I met the Dutch hiring manger. Very rude, mean and ignorant, made up a none sense reason(the interviewer is well prepared) and failed me, never been to Netherland before, can fellas share something with that place?
Considering an offer from Uber. Not sure if going to Uber is the best experience since Uber is a more volatile than Google and may not have as nice work culture or eng infrastructure. Can people who went from Google to Uber, share their experience? #uber #google #tech
~00mins - Ordered food and very hungry ~70mins - delivery driver calls and asks me to cancel the order. I check that cancellation will charge me if I cancel now and refuse and asks to get the right order and I’ll wait. Superrr hungry! ~80mins - check the order and realize it was already cancelled by...Read more
Interviewed with Uber for a mobile backend role, senior level. Recruiter seemed really disorganized. Probably the worst candidate experience I’ve had in terms of getting facts straight and making the process clear. Ended up having three system design rounds, two of which were calibrations from out...Read more

Hi Guys, I just wanted to let you know that Uber has some of the shittest HRs and Hiring Managers. I had recently interviewed for the SE-2 Frontend position and from my start of the application, my HR never interacted with me. She only used to send an email if I passed the earlier round and to give...Read more
