Comp. But no refresher if stock goes up. Nice sf office.
WLB. Very Top down chain of command. Keeps getting worse. Comply or get out. Losing its strong engineering and leadership

Did you guys read about this??? Apparently, food delivery services are paying literal pennies to their drivers/shoppers?? Is this even legal? Is this common in the industry? Does Uber Eats, Grubhub, Postmates, Caviar do this too? https://mashable.com/article/instacart-worker-wages-tipping/#8drut4...Read more

Restaurant owners are not paying enough to the workers even after charging enormous prices for the food. Workers should fight for the wages with their employers, should not expect anything from customers. Same should be the case with DoorDash, UBER, etc.
Uber doesn't own the cars, doesn't pay for gas, the oil changes, the maintenance of the cars and doesn't pay hourly wages for drivers. How is that having tons of drivers working for them in such advantageous conditions, they cannot be profitable? Similar way it is weird that airbnb, having similar ...Read more
Can you believe Uber has paid $186 million to fight CA than to help drivers? That says it all. Why can’t Uber and lyft pay fair wages and give drivers a safety net instead of being a big baby saying they’ll leave? Uber and lyft don’t care about you. They would rather leave California than to lose so...Read more

I don’t quite understand the intense hatred towards Uber. There are 100 million active users which means it is used by a ton of people. I guarantee the ones on Blind who have all this hatred towards their business model (independent contractors) also have accounts and use their services all the ti...Read more
Voting No on prop 22 sounds good and nice on paper, but that’s not how the real world economy works. The amount of people supporting no on prop 22 is mind boggling. Every law has side effects which most politicians don’t think of or care about. You cannot force a company to take a loss for your v...Read more
Inviting all insiders and market makers to share their opinions. Layoffs are still ongoing, but it mostly seems to be limited to the US. It seems like a ton of the gig economy jobs are services that are on their way to being automated (Uber, instacart, FedEx, and others like them). As this seems inevitable, even if it takes 20 years to completely automate these, what happens to those just scraping by and surviving in the gig economy....Read more
I’ve lived here all my life and had multiple roles in multiple companies in the region. I mainly work in product. I see many posts on here touting Dubai as a great tax free place but it’s not. There are indirect taxes of sorts on your life. Don’t fall for the facade. Salik: imagine paying tolls to...Read more
