Some smart people who have been here 4 or 5 years and are great to learn from. The engineering culture set by senior engineers is good but it's not supported by engineering management which is unfortunate. The new CEO lets people do their jobs and does not interrupt or embarrass them.
Engineering Managers are highly variable, some try and build careers for people and promote them while others have no idea how to manage people and treat them as disposable. Compensation is significantly below market and the retention bonuses for engineers are a joke. The VP of People has no idea how to manage people in a tech company despite the former CEO stressing how she was an A player at Netflix. During the recent company in person meeting, the VP of Engineering set policies different to the rest of the company but told his managers to not say it came from him which came out in the middle of a bar when attending a gathering of people who were not in engineering. Everyone is required to be oncall, including when pregnant. The last CEO would argue spelling with employees during their presentations to the company.
Wealthfront is offering this portfolio with a 5.48% yield. Is there a catch? Is this yield going to fluctuate a lot or is this a better place than the HYSA? https://support.wealthfront.com/hc/en-us/articles/14756022051988-Automated-Bond-Portfolios
https://www.wealthfront.com/blog/introducing-automated-bond-portfolio/ Expenses :0.25% Yield after expenses: 5.88 Is it too good to be true or good with less risk? Any experiences will be greatly appreciated.
Hey experts looking for guidance on how best to use Wealthfront investment management account. I plan to invest 10k as a starting point and add every month.
Do you have experience with Betterment/Wealthfront and how they compare to a standard 3 fund portfolio at Schwab/Fidelity/Vanguard? I know fees are a bit higher. Is the return still more? Is the automatic rebalancing and tax-loss harvesting worth it? I tried to calculate the cost difference using ...Read more
Thoughts on robo advisory investing? Lazy 3 Fund sounds like the safest option and would save me the most sleep initially, but I'm curious what people in tech think. I have around $60K in cash sitting in my savings... I want to keep $30K cash for emergency and invest the other $30K.
I’m a bit dumb in investments and not sure what to do. I have $300k in Robinhood and Wealthfront investments. 31.44% since 2018 (Wealthfront) and 19.16% since 2018 (Robinhood tech stocks). Is that good or bad? I don’t want to do individual stocks cause I’m an idiot when it comes to investment. I i...Read more
Sometimes it takes 45k reasons to realize investing is not for everybody. I did make a bunch back in etrade but I haven't broken even yet. I have small portfolios in Vanguard and Wealthfront to invest in index funds. TC: 330k
I’m getting started into index fund investing via WealthFront robo advisor. I tweaked the default portfolio to be biased more toward US companies. Here’s my current breakdown: 45% VTI 14% QQQ 15% VEA 15% VWO 9% VIG 2% VTEB Thoughts? Is this a safe portfolio that is good for long term investment? I...Read more
Is now a good time to move money from my savings account to my wealthfront portfolio ? Or is it gonna go lower still ? TC 250
I was looking at this app. Seems like a similar service to Wealthfront and Betterment, but also shows you and let’s you invest in the portfolios of other well know investors. Anybody used it? Or is it better to just stick with vanguard or Wealthfront and robinhood.
I use a variety of apps to manage my portfolio. Robinhood for stocks, wealthfront for short term investment accounts and fidelity for all IRA/401K. Haven’t been a big fan of Robinhood lately. Wealthfront has been a decent experience but considering moving everything to Fidelty. Should I move ever...Read more
I have a self-managed 3-fund index fund portfolio in vanguard, and a small investment at wealthfront with risk score of 9. While vanguard index funds have lower expense ratios, wealthfront provides tax-loss harvesting which can close the gap. Is there any analysis or pointers to the comparison two m...Read more
Was trying to use Betterment and Wealthfront together to compare their performance. Seems that this approach is BS for tax loss harvesting. Now, I switched off TLH on Betterment. However, I'm still not safe because of portfolio rebalancing. What is the best action to take now?
If you are a wealthfront user, how do your returns look like for this year? And what's your portfolio split? For me: Time weighted returns: 13.8% Split: US stocks(44%) and rest divided equally (foreign, dividend growth, and emerging market) #personalfinance #investments
I set my risk as highest (10/10). The past year was bullish with snp500 up 20% yoy and yet Wealthfront has only gained about 3% yoy for me. It shows 20%+ gain on US stocks and this alone is more than the 3% gain on the whole portfolio. And there are barely any negatives on other part of the portfoli...Read more
I feel I didn’t pay attention to investment or savings and work in a mid-pay company. Now I’ve got roughly 600k. Is this normal? I feel I got a good amount of money but given I didn’t do things special, I wonder if this is ordinary... YOE:3.5 My portfolio: 260 cash + saving account 85 Schwab stoc...Read more
I am trying to learn how to invest responsibly and properly. Currently, I have a wealthfront account(aggressive portfolio) and 401k. I know nothing about investing that is why I am wholly relying on wealthfront with my money. As my net worth is increasing slowly, I am trying to figure out if there ...Read more
i have been reading a lot about Wealthfront and Betterment and was intrigued. right now I am using Personal Capital to manage my money (~500k retirement portfolio), is it worth moving to robo advisors for the smaller fees? Anybody else move a large portfolio over to them?
