- vote Do you dress up for WFH? I often just wear home shorts and t-shirts 🙈
- Females: dressing up for work? There are only a few females in SWE and most wear comfortable clothing: jean/tshirt or blouse/tennis shoes. I am one of them. Lately, our company merged program managers that face customers under the SWE umbrella. PM's have almost the same ratio of males and females. Almost all females dress up:heel
- Would you give up wlb for 30% salary hike Currently at microsoft with tc: 150k (level 61). I work at max 20 hours week. Love my team, manager and work. - I shut up at work for my own good Since I did a training about diversity at work, I began to be really silent and spoke only when needed. - vote Does high TC make up for shitty WLB? I have neither. I work close to 10 hours daily for $70K, with the possibility of being randomly assigned to oncall *any time* of the day , even at 3 am (no, I'm not an SRE or infra guy, but that's just the manager's expectation for all devs). For those with shitty WLB, does your high TC make up for
- What are the “coolest” start ups to work for right now? I’m not just talking high TC, high upside companies. I’m talking places that are known to have a good culture. Places where you are or would be very proud to say you work. What’s today’s equivalent of working at Google in 2008 or Discord 3 years ago?
- How early do you get up for work And what's your morning routine. I've heard some banks let you come in later, like 9 or 10. We used to have to be in at 8. But some days I'd have calls at 5am. 😖

I really believe in the company a
- Working roughly 10 years in software industry should set you up for life. No need to go beyond that. So IMHO, start at a high paying job and work for 10 years + learn trading and investing. No need for fast promos or anything, just be average at your job. The more you stick out as an overachiever, the more your coworkers will hate you.
