*Work - Life Balance: -Probably can't be beat at most other workplaces. -Flexible schedules and remote work. *Company Culture: -For the most part, people are nice and pleasant to work with.
*Turbulent Management and High Turnover: -Have had 4 different managers during my time here. -Management prioritizes an unquestioned loyalty to "Yelp" as a company, which results in the neglect of their own teams, as their needs and advocacy are sidelined in favor of preserving the company's interest. *Compensation Issues: -Lack of clarity/transparency in compensation structures and schedules (bordering on misinformation). -A notable incident involving an error made by them when issuing an incorrect compensation letter that was ultimately not honored, leading to a prolonged dispute and eventual pay cut. *Increasing Workload with Decreasing Pay: -Following layoffs and terminations, workloads have increased without corresponding adjustments in pay. *Neglected Career Development: -Set backs / stagnancy in growth because you essentially have to start over each time you get a new manager (which has been about once per year).
Doesn’t everyone just use Google reviews? Genuinely curious what’s going on here. TC 300kish

Have business system analyst interview in yelp. What kind of questions do they ask?
Theres a moving company called Colonial Van Lines listed on Yelp holding its customers’ refunds unless they give them a 5-star review on Yelp. Is this sort of extortion against Yelp’s policies? How can it be reported?
"As the nation reckons with issues of systemic racism, we’ve seen in the last few months that there is a clear need to warn consumers about businesses associated with egregious, racially-charged actions to help people make more informed spending decisions," Yelp said in the blog post. https://www.f...Read more
One question I have is, how did they reach to restaurants and how did they scale to all restaurants. Did they go in person? #tech
Just watched an interview with Yelp CEO that just confirmed the company is trash. Every business on Yelp hates the way Yelp chooses to operate. Forces small businesses to pay to take down reviews proven to be falsified. It’s all about money to them. A shame because the platform could choose to prior...Read more
My wife runs a small home business. She had 70 all 5Star reviews on Yelp. Recently yelp started to filter her reviews and now she is left with only 29 reviews. This has impacted her business, she is also disturbed by this as Yelp helps generate most of her business. We tried complaining to Yelp b...Read more
With the current situation with covid 19 threat and the upcoming recession, is it likely that there would be mass layoffs in twilio ? it looks like the online services business should do well in these times but then again we saw yelp, Groupon etc.

I noticed some businesses have a ton of Google reviews mostly 5 stars but no reviews on Yelp or 3.5 Yelp reviews. Are those 5 stars reviews legit?
I had a big respect for companies like Uber, Lyft, Airbnb, Yelp etc and wished I had worked for them. But now looking at how these companies are laying off (except Airbnb), I'm so surprised. Are these companies being run so badly (or so fragile) that they cannot even withstand 3 months of bad busi...Read more

Small businesses hate both of these companies. There’s nothing proprietary about their tech. (E.g. Google is making Yelp obsolete) What am I missing? Where do they go from here?
Got hunter messages from both companies. Not familiar with businesses like this. Wondering whether such home business is promising or not. Since there’s already quite a few competitors like home advisor yelp, even google launch “ask quotes “, so not sure what it would like. Thanks
Just tried a highly rated restaurant this evening and while the food was very good, the portions were tiny and after spending over $50 per person (no alcohol), we all left hungry. I want Yelp to add a VALUE score to each business so I can filter results for only places that deliver good value (4+ v...Read more
