“Good place to learn, bad place to be”
Pros- lots to learn on technical side
- professional, and skilled (developer) colleagues
- maintain good balance of work/like
- respect, and friendly colleagues
Cons- higher management is clueless of what technology means.
- higher management is trying to scale the company fast, but they don't have enough experience.
- salary can only be increased via a promotion. otherwise, it would stay the same for years whatever the person accomplishes.
- developers have to find requirements themselves, as the product don't really understand the product.
- high churn rate, because of bad management ending up in no one understanding the old services (2 years old), no maintenance happening, tech debt is never prioritized. All of that, ended up in really bad code quality.
- architects are always prioritizing fastest solution not considering how much this could bring harm on the long run.
- managers makes technical decisions for the team, and get themselves micro involved in a way that hurts the team dynamics.
- total chaos on the projects and technical roadmaps. no one knows what's coming next month. priorities keep changing suddenly without good reasons.
- when employees ask critical questions in the company wide meetings, higher management skips answering keeping everyone more frustrated.
