Santa Clara County has extended its rotation of free COVID-19 test sites available by appointment in Palo Alto, Mountain View and five other cities in the northern section of the county through October. First introduced in August, the appointment-only sites are located in cities represented by county Supervisor Joe Simitian.

The spring 2021 semester is officially online, with some exceptions for essential industry and hard-to-convert classes, at El Camino College. According to an email announcement from ECC president and superintendent Dena Maloney, essential industry classes will only be held if allowed by public health officials for Los Angeles County and the state of California.

Two competing measures on the November ballot seek to extend building height and density caps throughout San Mateo for 10 years, but one of the measures exempts areas around train stations from those restrictions. Measure Y would extend the citywide 55-foot height limit and 50-unit-per-acre density limit established by Measure P through 2030.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials say another 31 residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since Friday. Of those, eight are in El Dorado Hills, ten in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, three in North County, two in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, three in Greater Placerville and five in the Lake Tahoe Region.
