“TC is really bad..”

ProsThere is no strong culture but I wouldn't complain about that. Work life balance is good.

ConsStock options are almost non-existant (I joined years ago) And NO EQUITY REFRESHES. I heard recruiters tell interviewers they can get equity refreshes but no one - even director level - gets it so do not bet on it. I know someone who joined because of that but is thinking of leaving already after realizing the truth.

Leadership is pretty good at comminication. They make announcements quickly whenever there is an important update (eg. fundraising). However, growing valuation only makes me sad, bitter, and upset since most employees won't benefit from it. Only the top top people. This is how a lot of folks feel but HR and management just don't care and play dumb.

Also there is ZERO performance review process which means I don't know how I'm performing and what I have to do to be qualified for promotion or a big salary bump. Merit is ~3% at most on avg even for high performers. It's hard to grow because there is no structure/process, so you have pave your own way by actively networking with people and asking for constructive feedback. It's really tough when it's not part of the culture. I feel like many people are "fighting" constantly to get a raise, to get a promotion when their responsibilites are already big.
