ProsWork life balance is good. 35 hours a week and you rarely work outside 9-5. People within the teams are smart and work well together, but there are a lot of politics throughout the company.
Good health insurance. Paid maternity/paternity leave.
If you like hybrid you will work 2 days per week in the office for IT, 3 days for everyone else.
If you are just starting out, it's good for the experience, but if you stay more then a few years your comp will be behind the market.
If you're close to retirement, it's a great place to wait it out. They rarely fire people.
ConsLow pay for the industry (raises are usually only 2% and don't cover cost of living increases), hemorrhaging staff, HR can't get its act together to hire replacements, positions go unfilled for months and they make remaining employees do double roles. Cto, Head of App Dev, and Head of PMO all left within the last 4 months. Senior Mgmt does not listen to employees and make no effort to retain people. IT is a sinking ship.
Career growth is non-existant for IT. Promotions are either based on how long you've been at your current title or if you're maxing out of your pay band.
