Most hiring managers follow a pattern here for hiring a candidate - Promise anything of what candidate wants and looking for - Hire him - Once he joins, make him to work on anything but non-important/non-interesting work. In worst case, a candidate can be pushed to technical support to customers. Old employees only are allowed to work on new development. 80% developers don't have chance to work on new development but to support older features and versions. Moreover they don't even share any kind of knowledge and keep with themselves only... making themselves critical resource for the company. - In the end you will only follow processes, which results into delayed work and non-interesting stuff. - DevOps here is only for the sake of name. Too much manual repeated work for every day activity. :P
