ProsMost colleagues are smart and easy to work with. Little to no backstabbing or office politics for junior to mid-level associates. Most associates leave for coveted in-house positions after a few years. Partners are generally humane and will actually accommodate you if you need to take a break for personal reasons. Pro Bono is encouraged and counted toward billable total without stigma or compensation repercussion.
ConsHigh turnover and thin culture. Associates mostly keep to themselves. Hours are less intense than other big law firms I have worked for, but it's still big law and the unpredictability of evening and weekend work makes it difficult to avoid burnout even with fewer hours worked.
