ATLANTA, April 19, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern Company announced today it is increasing its dividend by 8 cents per share on an annualized basis to a rate of $2.64 per share. This marks the 20 th consecutive year that Southern Company has raised the dividend on its common stock.

North Carolina regulators have approved what is likely about a 5.5% rate hike for Duke Energy Progress, cutting the request for a 12.3%, $445.3 million increase to something around $300 million. The N.C. Utilities Commission says that will be an overall increase of about 6.9%.
