- Company-wide distrust in management’s ability to steer root successfully. Stock has tanked about 95% since I joined due to public distrust in management as well. - Quickly changing priorities. Frequently pivot between new “magic bullets” priorities that will make Root profitable. Management has explained a clear lack of understanding our own company’s data to make business predictions that have caused job losses. - Lack of pay scale transparency. Many employees have asked for more insight into pay scales but requests have been consistently deflected (assumed due to large pay gaps with varying differences in responsibility). It seems like there is a good ol’ boys club for the employees regularly in-office, which prevents advancement in an already unclear environment (no leveling guide has been implemented) - Attrition issues & limited HR hiring team— there is one employee handling hiring for all positions and he does not have the bandwidth to screen enough quality candidates. The company has been suffering attrition problems since ~20% of the company was laid off in a RIF announced over a 2 minute zoom call (several employees weren’t even able to join in time)
