The Thunder Basin High School boys basketball team came one game away from a title but fell 55-40 to Cheyenne Central in the Class 4A State Championship Saturday night in Casper. After beating Green River and Star Valley to clinch a spot in the title game, the Bolts battled with the Indians but were ultimately outmatched as Central won its 26th championship in school history.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association released Class 5A "groups," and districts for the other six classes, for the 2021 and 2022 football seasons Friday.

A panel of coaches, media people, and sports historians carried out the selection process. The process created a very thoughtful and thorough perspective on high school basketball in South Dakota. All-decades teams were selected for each of the three classes, Class B, Class A, and Class AA.

Dumas coach George Shelton was hired over 26 other candidates to lead the Little Rock Central football program. The Little Rock School District announced the hiring during a school board meeting Thursday night. Shelton replaces Kent Laster, who left in January to become the coach at University High School in Waco, Texas.
