What’s the ESPP policy at Microsoft? I know it’s 10% discount for upto 25k$ max contribution. Is that it or is there any other clause that determines grant price ? For example, some companies have minimum of start and end days in a 6 month period etc.
Spouse just started working at Microsoft and we are considering enroll in ESPP. Quick question, can we sell stock in the account when still working at the company? Or we can only sell it after leaving?
Do most people at Microsoft leverage the ESPP? Are there any restrictions? With the stock going up do you invest a good chunk of your payroll in it?
Did/will you sell your RSUs? I've got like 20 shares. My portfolio is 80% VTI, 20% VXUS.
So for ESPP, it's 10% off of the closing of the final offering period? I thought there was also lookback as well? Example: Offering Period Starts: 10/01 Offering Period Ends: 12/31 Price @ start: $200 Price @ end: $225 I pay 0.9 of price at end, which is then $202.5, rather than 0.9 at start (wi...Read more
If I get 5000 dollars worth of Microsoft from my ESPP, does it make sense to just sell that immediately and put that money into my Roth IRA, and buy Microsoft again? (Assuming I like to hold Microsoft)
Per Microsoft's policy: 1. Stocks under ESPP program are bought at the end of the quarter (next cycle ends 31st Dec 2021). 2. Purchase price is 10% discounted on fair market price on last day of the offering period (31st Dec 2021). 3. Employee contributions towards ESPP are held per paycheck (so twi...Read more
Is ESPP at Microsoft Pre-Taxed or Post-Taxed ? What is a way to make the best use of it ? #microsoft
I'm going to enroll in ESPP program, and we get to deduct up to 15% of paychecks with 10% discount. After reading a lot about the program, I'm not clear on whether 15% is of base pay before tax, or after tax. I understand ESPP is deducted from after-tax net pay only, but not sure if we can contribut...Read more
Hi Folks, There is ESPP in Microsoft, that lets you set aside upto 15% of the base salary, and buy MS stocks at 10% discount every quarter. What is the net profit/loss after tax, if such stocks are immediately sold after crediting to the account? I have read somewhere that 10% of the amount is ini...Read more
I max out my ROTH $401(k) contributions and plan to put a decent amount into my ROTH IRA. But in terms of more immediate return on investment I’m considering maxing or significantly funding the ESPP plan this quarter (up to 15% of income) and sell maybe half of that immediately to turn some cash ove...Read more
Hi Blind friends, Does MSFT Vancouver offer ESPP to its employees? TC: 200CAD
I’m an ex Microsoft employee and I sold my Microsoft stock last year. I’m using TurboTax and I have no idea how to fill all the questions that TurboTax asks. Do we have any quick guide for MSFT ESPP on TurboTax? I imported Fidelity 1099-B into TurboTax but it keeps asking each stock is long term or...Read more
I’ll be quitting msft in august and have been contributing to espp. Will they automatically reimburse me for espp contribution that haven’t exercised yet and will reconcile on last pay check or do I need to contact the brokerage?
Hi, I recently joined and just enrolled in ESPP. do you set your taxable account to transfer ESPP after selling? I'm not very familiar with this. Thanks 🙏
Yet another MSFT benefits question. Somewhere in the benefits website says that if you max out ESPP, i.e. contributing %15 of base, Microsoft may contribute $2500. Is this a lie? I don't see anyone mentioning it, or anywhere else in plan descriptions.
What happens to espp money while leaving Microsoft? I assume money will be returned as part of last paycheck. Is that right?
How does the 15% ESPP limit work? My December 2022 contribution was way less than what I'd allocated through my paycheck, and the 2022 total comes out to 20k, less than the IRS Limit of 25k. Does the remainder that I had deducted from my paycheck go into the fidelity account as cash or will it be i...Read more
