Lots of competent colleagues; you will work with good engineers who can get things done. The infra is pretty good which enables you to be productive. Perks are great and all-cash compensation is pretty nice too.
Management in engineering is so-so from my experience, really good explicit communication but also not willing to put the right process in place to make planning and execution as efficient as it could be. The company is changing a lot right now as it transitions from the old no-level world to a more typical organization with lots of juniors, fair number of seniors, and a few staff+. I think the change will be for the best in the long run but the culture hasn't quite adapted yet.
What's the engineering management function like at Netflix? What is the split of responsibilities/what kind of ownership/autonomy do you have etc #netflix #engineeringmanagement TC ~200k

If you start a tech based side business/startup while employed at FAANG, what are the legal consequences ? Can you actually do it ? Does your FAANG employer have a high probability of claiming ownership of the startup (Pied Piper style!) ? #faang #startup #google #microsoft #facebook #netflix
Hi I am in the beginning of the interview process for a finance role @ Netflix and wondering if anyone could shed some light into how the various groups within financial planning & analysis/ strategy planning & analysis are structured? The role I’m applying for seems like a relatively broad-based ro...Read more
Long-term (career-wise), it seems that Amazon is a better place to grow compared to Google/Facebook/Netflix. I agree that work conditions are better in those companies, short-term. But if someone is a 10x engineer and has excellent social skills, the overall impact one can have at Amazon is IMO high...Read more
Half of my team has been sick this month and no one knows much about what others are working on. We don’t have sprint planning. My manager just delegates tasks to people arbitrarily(along with a JIRA ticket). My manager was out sick as well and everyone is lost. How can we: 1. increase visibilit...Read more
Hello, I wanted to get an understanding of where most current Netflix employees were working before they got the gig? Also I've seen some roles that look for a blend of soft and hard skills of interest. Previous attempts at applying have not yielded results. I've been on the biz side in my career...Read more

I'm wondering about the difference between ML SWE and "applied scientist" tracks at a few companies. I'd like to join the teams actually applying ML, owning production code, working together, hiring and mentoring people and solving the problems. Just started as an SWE Group Manager this week (been 2 days so far). Feel kind of lost. Chatted with some of the TLs about features, priorities, applications, ownership, team structure, etc. They seem ok. Culture is super chill. I genuinely feel Indian tech has come way too far. So much so that we don't appreciate how hard it really was a decade ago. You could now be in the IC ladder and still make top INR which previously required you to transition into management or masters + boomerang or other tacts. MTech is almost re...Read more
