Initial comp was great; refreshes are harder to get and you have no leverage
Very fragmented; too many product areas; lots of bureaucracy.
I will finish my Masters degree in computer science next year. Dream is to work in Google Brain as Research software engineer. Which requirements for this position: algorithms, machine learning, papers in conferences, etc.? Also, please share any information related to this posiotion TC, etc.
What are things like internally right now with the leadership of the ethical AI team leaving? External perception has obviously changed. Has this impacted morale, processes, or anything else that would inhibit/encourage research? Still a great place to work? #google #ML #brain
After a round of negotiation, I received an L4 offer from Google Brain as follows: 155K base, 400K RSUs, 50K signing, for a total of 278K TC and 328K first year TC assuming 15% annual bonus. I'm told this is quite good, but I was wondering how to best proceed to bump it up to 300K excluding signing ...Read more

Can I get team matched as a ml SWE or mle to google brain? Is it as cool as deepmind? Is it more applied or pure research?
I really want to independently start learning machine learning and with a few years of hardwork would like to join a team doing high level research in ML. I also live in Toronto. How do people normally get into Google brain? Is it very competitive even for people with a phD at the right schools?
Which one has better reputation? Which one would you join as a junior research scientist? Why? #google #brain #fair #meta #researchscientist #AI
I am interested in learning more about google brain AI residency program from current/past residents: 1) how competitive is it? 2) do you have better shot at google research job after finishing this program? 3) do you get paid as a resident? Thanks
What's the career growth like for a frontend focused L4 SWE contributing to Google Brain projects? It's certainly interesting from a research perspective, but concerned about whether it'll develop my SWE skills. Is Brain SWE work mostly prototyping or also contributing to production systems?
