Interesting product and projects, amazing work life balance, generally good people
Uninspiring leadership, terrible middle management, massive bureaucracy considering company size, CEO is completely unqualified and demotivating, awful product prioritization, rampant technical debt, and no real decision making capability by ICs or line managers. Things used to be better, but culture and company has been on a steady decline.
The only time I use Reddit is for a few very specific topics I follow. I saw something recently that others use it for tech & career related info. Which channels do you follow for this? Curious on what I’m missing. Thanks for suggestions.

I’m a chemical engineer, largely because I heard they were the highest paid engineers while I was studying in college. When I read everything here and on reddit it seems like even entry level software engineers are making more money than mid/senior chemical engineers. Is this usually the case or are...Read more
Hi, I am confused between the two, TC at both places is almost same ~250K (reddit would be less because paper stocks, but that's okay) The work at uber seems very chill (would be stagnating and boring too!). At Reddit I’ve seen some directors keeping around an engineer as a direct report. Is this generally seen as a good career move for the engineer?
Got offers from FB and Google, and Reddit is keen about me but unsure about career growth/support for new grad versus other two. Recent fb news has me a little worried too, outside looking in. Google seems like you just get thrown to the masses whereas FB has dedicated new grad program.
This feels good, man. So fucking high on happiness right now. Would love to listen to any life or career advice from the old and wise. Edit: Got a lot of questions about my story so here it goes. Started casually programming around 12-14 with C lol. That was a bad idea and it was pretty intensive...Read more
