Cool technology, probably the leader in the field. Mostly a high hiring bar for engineers Lot of the good of a startup but with more money and benefits
WLB is terrible Uncertain future so can't value compensation clearly
I got an initial offer from Waymo at Staff level. They said they determine their numbers by looking at your competing offers. However, apparently they aren’t even willing to match my other offer from a public company??? I’m legit confused, I was expecting them to give a solid offer. They are trying...Read more
My friend got an offer from Waymo for SWE L4. 150k base 25k signon RSUs worth 60k and a number and number of stock options which are currently worth 0. I believe Waymo stocks have lot of upside compared to GSUs but, How do one evaluate an offer like this ? What would be the TC?
Looking for data points on total comp at Waymo for both Director and Principal level (believe they tie to L8 and L7). Thank you #compensation #tech
Master with 2 yoe, robotics and swe. Currently eastcoast mid-size city. TC 180k (base + bonus, not counting options) Verbal offer from Waymo indicates a base in range of 130k - 140k. This is about 20k lower than my current base and considering the cost of living increases, felt like quite a tough o...Read more
Looking for any ideas about expected TC for L4 in the perception team. Received very positive feedback after the interviews. I have a couple of competing offers from other AV firms (Rough TC: 300k+ 100k sign-on) so wanted to check if waymo matches comp usually. Poll: expected waymo TC without sign...Read more
Can someone shed some light on offers they have received from Waymo for mid-level hardware engineers? What base salary to expect, RSU and other benefits.
Waymo posted this JD: Check out this job at Waymo: https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/3311449404 What can I expect the total comp to be like? I also have a pending offer for 205k at AWS I’d like to leverage. Current TC: 115k
Can anyone tell me what the comp or Google level equivalent for a non-tech role at Waymo that requires 4YOE is? TIA
Heard from recruiter that decision is a yes. Waiting to hear the numbers. Appreciate inputs on what I can negotiate for. Current TC: 230
Copied straight from Wikipedia, In November 2022, Chris Hohn on behalf of TCI wrote an open letter to Sundar Pichai (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sundar_Pichai), CEO of Alphabet (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alphabet_Inc.) and Google (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google).[16][17] In the letter, ...Read more
Got initial offer from Waymo for L5 IC SWE base: 200k + 15% bonus RSU: 325K over 4 years sign on: 30K What would be a good TC for this level? Thanks #compensation
Would the community give me several datapoints on L6 compensation and its structure at Waymo. Tons of info on Google's L6 and almost none for Waymo. Rooftop slushie: https://www.rooftopslushie.com/request/Moved%20past%20first%20stage%20at%20Program%20Management%20at%20Waymo-1696
(l5+) Is it worth shifting from Google to Waymo? I am also interested to know the experience (comp wise) of people who moved the other way round. #waymo #comp #google
A friend told me that for parts of Alphabet that are outside of Google, the RSU compensation is not given in Google stocks, but the respective company stocks, such as Waymo. Is this true, and if so, (a) how does the valuation work for such stocks? (b) what happens to unvested stocks if someone move...Read more
I have a verbal offer from Waymo (TPM role - no comp yet). Few questions - 1. How does Waymo stock + options work (since it is all liquid) ? 2. Any liquidity event until now if so what happens to vested stocks in that event? 3. Is internal transfer from Waymo to Google a possibility, if so in wha...Read more
Similar comp at both (around 450k). CK has more stability at this point whereas Waymo has the Alphabet brand. My main concern with Waymo is the Waymo RSUs. It's paper money for now and there don't seem to be IPO plans anytime soon. Leaving the company before IPO might lead to a tc drop. Current ...Read more
Fitbit, Waymo, DeepMind, Sidewalk Labs, etc. - If not, what type of compensation could you expect to see at these companies? (or those not listed)
