I got two job offers. One is managing the Data science department, reporting to VP of AI, at a public company with a few thousands employees. Total comp $400k. I have a few director level friends/allies, and it should be an easy job. It’s also in a low COL region, cheaper than SoCal. Another offer ...Read more
Have two offers on the table. Ally for 90k with 10k sign on and 5% yearly bonus as a Software Developer BOA for 120k with performance based annual bonus ( undisclosed %) As a AVP Software Engineer 2 Ally would probably be easier for growth but the money is kinda hard to ignore along with the bet...Read more
I was bored and was looking at bankrates today. Apparently Citi now offers “Accelerate” account at 2.36+. * WF = 2.57% * Ally = 2.1% * Marcus = 2.15% The cons of Citi is the rate is not transparent (last known is from the news). But I am curious (1) has anyone signed up for Citi AA, (2) would you...Read more

I have $300k cash sitting in an Ally Bank savings account at 3.4% interest. Robin Hood apparently offers 4%, but I don’t trust them. That 0.6% is $1,800 or $2k worth of interest. It would probably take me 30 seconds to make the transfer but I just don’t trust them with money.
Hi, I already have a pre-approval from Ally Bank. I also approached Chase but they would not proceed without a hard credit pull. So I had to put it on hold(rates were not any better than Ally's anyways). Our agent had suggested we try out with Wells Fargo, Chase, or BoA. Is there any value in this? ...Read more
I'm currently in my last year of uni and I got two offers to choose from, Ally NYC and Mastercard STL, MO. I’ve had membership to First Tech Credit Union offered at a few jobs. Anyone have experience and think they are better than other common options (Schwab, Ally). I would consider them for checking, savings, CDs, and possibly a home loan (I’d shop around for the best rate). If you’ve had good experie...Read more

I’m starting to hoard cash since I think this market has more downside to go. I see that Varo offers a nice APY and the UI looks clean and feels like a legit bank.
