Some smart people who have been here 4 or 5 years and are great to learn from. The engineering culture set by senior engineers is good but it's not supported by engineering management which is unfortunate. The new CEO lets people do their jobs and does not interrupt or embarrass them.
Engineering Managers are highly variable, some try and build careers for people and promote them while others have no idea how to manage people and treat them as disposable. Compensation is significantly below market and the retention bonuses for engineers are a joke. The VP of People has no idea how to manage people in a tech company despite the former CEO stressing how she was an A player at Netflix. During the recent company in person meeting, the VP of Engineering set policies different to the rest of the company but told his managers to not say it came from him which came out in the middle of a bar when attending a gathering of people who were not in engineering. Everyone is required to be oncall, including when pregnant. The last CEO would argue spelling with employees during their presentations to the company.
Peeps, for the first time ever, managed to save $100k. I am nervous as to deciding what to do with it. Home: Bay area, $100k won't do much Bullion? Physical precious metals? Stock market: too risky for me, I don't like this option VTI/VTSAX: put 100% in to this? High interest accounts: is this an...Read more
Did anyone invest in stash or Wealthfront app and how is it for long term investment ?
I was looking at this app. Seems like a similar service to Wealthfront and Betterment, but also shows you and let’s you invest in the portfolios of other well know investors. Anybody used it? Or is it better to just stick with vanguard or Wealthfront and robinhood.
Looking for a good tool that I can use to track net worth. I’ve been using Wealthfront for a long time and love how it shows all the accounts and updates the value once a day. But now I want to see total net worth for me and my spouse. Wealthfront only adds wife’s Wealthfront investment account and...Read more

Do you think automation will take market share from retail financial advisors / investment managers? It’s already started with apps like Wealthfront, but how much do you envision it taking over the role of a traditional wealth manager?

This was a few months ago. Was recently laid off so I applied to Wealthfront, and one of the questions on their application was whether I've used their app. I selected "Yes, but haven't put any funds", since I'd downloaded the app and played around with it but didn't use all of their features. Didn'...Read more
I’m a Recent Grad and was advised to drop some money in Wealthfront and don’t think about it. So I dropped $30k of my signing bonus last year and I came back exactly a year after and it’s down like 2%. This might not be much to some of y’all but I’m not optimistic about this silly app over the next ...Read more
