L4 SWE/$300k/8yoe Transferred to new team and project after a reorg. Just found out dev productivity expectations here include number of points completed per sprint, not just number of changes and lines of code submitted. I guess they want more granular sprint tasks.
I'm currently with sprint and have been for a couple months now, am thinking about transferring or was thinking maybe I'm better off going to AT&T? Anyone work for any of the wireless providers. I want to go where the money is!!
I’m expecting h1 transfer receipt early next week (and give notice as soon as I get receipt) I have sprint planning on Monday. Should I skip the meeting ? Or should I just act normal and plan tasks (as if I intend to continue working here ) and quit when I get my receipt ? L5 SDE TC: 220k #amazon...Read more
Targeting last day for 10.2. Our sprint starts from next Wednesday, so that giving 3 weeks notice period is the best for task alignment. I am on H1B transfer (got receipt) and also have ead card with marriage green card applications. Should I give 3 weeks notification or 2 is the best for me?
#offer #tech #sprint I was offered job as DE earlier this year from Sprint and I accepted the offer as well. Due to covid, visa transfer took additional time. Later HR said that they cant continue now for that position and I need to reapply and go through all interview process again. What options ...Read more

My manager gives me lot of freedom and I think I am using it as an advantage since April. This is making me feel low eve...Read more

I'm part of a new-ish team for the past 2 months and gave my notice late last week. There's no knowledge transfer that needs to happen, and I feel zero motivation to pick up any story, knowing I'm leaving soon. What do you guys do when you give the notice? Edit: Done with this sprint's work ahead o...Read more
Title is pretty self explanatory but... I wound up on a team that doesn't believe in sizing or sprints or really any sort of planning. I was assigned an entire feature without any goalposts/subtasks. Both my GF and I are SDEs (in different companies) in NY with H1B status. Her team has extremely toxic culture and lost half of engs already. She’s also preparing to jump ship to another company. 1.5 years in as an L5 SDE and don’t really have anything bad to stay tbh. It’s a good place to work. Curious if the Amazon haters around here actually worked at the company? Hours: 40-50 a week. I can probably reduce this but I’m a perfectionist and also spend lots of time learning outside the spri...Read more
Last month I told my company I want to quit, but then they asked me to stay another 2 months, 1 month to tie up any loose ends the team might need from and write documentation and another month to knowledge transfer when they bring in my replacement. However, they said I'm still full time so I shou...Read more
I noticed that there's no transparency at JPMC, at least the team that I'm in. Everything's secretive and the ED and the VP only send communication to the team lead who is their pet. There's no visibility in who does what and who gets the share of work. Most of the team members are not invited to me...Read more
