Lots of competent colleagues; you will work with good engineers who can get things done. The infra is pretty good which enables you to be productive. Perks are great and all-cash compensation is pretty nice too.
Management in engineering is so-so from my experience, really good explicit communication but also not willing to put the right process in place to make planning and execution as efficient as it could be. The company is changing a lot right now as it transitions from the old no-level world to a more typical organization with lots of juniors, fair number of seniors, and a few staff+. I think the change will be for the best in the long run but the culture hasn't quite adapted yet.
I’ve heard that most ICs at Netflix have senior SE titles, and it seems there are even no internal levels like FB (from levels.fyi). So does that mean there is no promotion at Netflix? How do they reward top performers? Also regarding technical leadership, how to decide who are tech leads for a tea...Read more
Netflix has new leadership at CPO and CTO. For a company that touts to be the best in class engineers with grueling interview rounds and big compensation packages, I find it very weird for a VP of data, former COO and economic consultant to be the new Netflix CTO. To be clear, I don’t know her, may...Read more

Unless I’m too dumb to understand the strategy here, that does sound like suicidal. Context: Netflix is cracking down on password sharing in Canada, Spain, New Zealand, Portugal and now every single person that I know is canceling their membership. I was at Uber and Netflix and worked with lots of PMs. But microsoft is just unique in how bad the quality of PMs is. A lot of them have non-technical degrees, some are just fresh out of college. Doesn't senior leadership know this? Or doesn't care?
Is there a blog, deck, or article that outlines Facebook culture? Netflix, Uber, and Amazon publish detailed info about leadership and culture, but haven’t seen much from FB.

What is the PM team like at Netflix? Culture, responsibilities, day to day, leadership, impact. Thinking about making a move.
Leadership is still giving me very high visible projects with big responsibilities. While I received my first MI (Moderate impact) last month.
