Great work life balance in my department. You get a lot of extra perks
Jane is not growing as a company which makes career growth hard and layoffs frequent
Compensation, benefits, work, smart people, used to be very collaborative, now occasionally collaborative. Making Markets is fun and interesting to study and learn about. In earlier days prioritizing work life balance was done well as it was needed for ambitious workers.
Silos, secrecy, lack of transparency, no distribution of common tools leading to tools redundancy, project ideation easily and often are shot down, egos, work life balance has gotten worse over the years.
Have a first round coming up, no idea how to prepare - the mock interviews / Glassdoor questions all seem doable however most of the posts are “no offer”. How does one get hired at Jane Street ? 😅 TC: 370k YOE: 2.5 #engineering #software #hft #janestreet
Jane Street recruiter requested a phone interview for software intern position next summer. But I couldn’t find much on the web as to how to prepare. Possibly they don’t offer interview opportunities that often. Appreciate Jane Street people can chip in.
I had a 3rd interview with Jane Street where they haven't asked me a single question. Not a single question. So the whole interview it was me asking them questions. Rejected. W T F ??? Anyone at JS know what was this about? I am very very puzzled. Cannot sleep thinking what did I do wrong. TC: 20...Read more

Was interviewing for a senior architect role in the network programming group. Crammed for days on ocaml, ombp, sockets and all that other happy horseshit and 2 bgp questions threw me off. Unreal. Since it matters Herr, current TC is 380k
Hi Blinders, Anyone interviewed at Jane recently? Would like some feedback on people’s experiences. YOE 15 TC - 450k
For coding/algorithm interviews, am I suppose to know advanced algorithms such as Convex Hull? Or will it just be hard versions of basic concepts (DP, Graphs etc.)? #janestreet
Where can one get some practice for Jane street interviews? I keep hearing that you can’t really use Leetcode to study/practice. Anyone have any other resources? Thanks in advance. Tc 195 Yoe: 2 #engineering #janestreet
Got a month to prepare for Jane street first round. Any tips or advice? Haven't done leetcode for over a year but was able to postpone the interview to give me some time. Hey guys, I have an upcoming Jane Street SWE phone interview and would love interview preparation tips. Overall, I’m surprised by how little information is known about it. - Some people claim knowledge of functional programming is helpful (in particular OCaml) vs not. - Some people claim concurre...Read more
I have a SWE phone screen interview (~1 hour) coming up in 4 weeks and day for Jane Street. Looking for any advice on what to study. What’s the on-site interview like for Jane street? I heard it’s 4 technicals in a row. Is it just them grilling you for coding back to back? Or do they have systems design and what not. This is for whatever they call “production engineering” Tc: 200 after drop Yoe: 1.5 Ic4 at 🤡🌎
When I was in undergrad, Jane Street was known to give only one interview opportunity in a lifetime. Is this true? EDIT: if not, how long is their cooldown?
Starting the interview process with several firms and companies. All non-quant SWE; all in NYC. - D.E. Hi everyone, I recently applied to Jane Street for their Software Engineering role and have been asked to participate in the first round of interviews. Hello, What's the interview process like for Jane Street SWE role? I heard that they mostly ask memoization and then expand more on that on the first interview. Is there something I should focus more/less on? #jane #janestreet #janestreetcapital #tech
How to prepare for entry or mid level software engineering interviews at Jane Street?
Hey, I have a phone interview with Jane street this week. Somehow I positioned them in my mind like (Possibly due to their love for OCaml and FP) they would ask crazy hard questions and wouldn't want to work with anyone who can't talk about Monads for 3 hours straight (Def not me) Do you know how ...Read more
I have an prescreen coming for Jane Street for PE role. I am not sure what to expect from LC.
