Comp can be nice, depending on the stock price. Pay increases are not great
Overtime expectations, terrible management. The culture encourages engineers to chase metrics rather than do actual work.
I've recently gotten an offer for a Strategic Operations Manager position in the Uber Eats (Eater Operations) team. The only thing holding me back from accepting the offer is the fear of layoffs. I'm at Amazon currently in a safe & steady job. However, the pay is shite. The move to Uber will give m...Read more
Just curious if anyone knows how delivery would be affected by potential layoffs. Recently accepted an offer within delivery, and it seems like they are still hiring aggressively and that they are understaffed. My understanding is that the goal of Eats right now is to grow.
Heard some folks were laid off from Uber Eats at NYC. Is Uber having another wave of layoffs?

What's it like working at Uber nowadays? 2020 was a big shakeup for Uber due to mass layoffs, doubling down on Eats, Postmates acquisition, and the axing of ATG and other divisions. Dara also should have had enough time by now to sink his claws in and remove Travis's traces from Uber. YOE: intern...Read more
Given the recession situation, is it safe to join backend/platform teams at Uber? I know Eats/ Freight teams are layoff-proof mostly due to better performance of products. How about backend/platform teams?

I've been blessed to receive software engineering internship offers from all these places. I interned at Uber last summer. I'm a junior looking for this to be my full-time offer that I'd accept. I was laid off from my current job yesterday. I'm a hardware test engineer. I recently got my GC so visa stuff are ...Read more
