Can’t think of any due to executive level leadership. It was once a great company that was culture and people driven. That has been gutted with 2 major layoffs in the last 4 years.
With recent 12k layoffs, have to do more with less. Incredibly stretch goals that are unattainable which makes me think they are using it to justify further layoffs. Recent change in RTO policy = 5 days a week.
Looking to make a move from hardware to software. Would like to find a software company still in “land-grab” mode, where the AEs are making 250k plus. Anyone know of any software companies that may be worth looking at?
Are pay raises at start ups usually more than at a large company? How much was your most recent raise?
Guys if you are salty about this, get a commercial truck driving license and give it a try. I have a friend who did this almost a decade ago because of the allure of the six-figure salary (yes it was high pay even then), got the license ... and quit driving a truck within a week because it was too d...Read more

So basically it's a known-fact that Paris tech salaries are lower than the average in other European cities (like Berlin, Amsterdam, etc). Yet recently I came across multiple tech offers based in Paris for DE (Data Engineer) role with salaries similar to those I usually find in Berlin/Amsterdam: 75...Read more
My first job was at a DoD start up and I made ok money at it. I somewhat assumed that all positions were paid below market value. However, I've seen some posts on blind with high YoE people getting really good offers from start ups. Do the higher positions (like principal or staff software engineers...Read more

FANG (except Amazon) have deep pockets and pay better than most start-ups. So for folks who moved from FANG to start-ups, did you take a pay cut (after taking private equity into account) for more interesting/bigger scope work and potential rewards?
Mostly writing this as a rant post but also to shed some light on the market right now. I’m currently an SDE 2 at Amazon and have been here for about 15 months and am desperately looking to leave the company. My team is awful, my manager is constantly berating the team, I work ~60 hours a week. I’ve...Read more

I’m a physician, financially savvy but new to tech and start-ups. A healthcare start-up wants to hire me as a consultant. They offered to pay me either cash or shares. The initial offer was 2,500 shares (not options) per year. I don’t know how many shares they are going to issue or the valuation o...Read more
I get the sense that start ups are unstable and wlb can be shit, with lower pay. Am I wrong to think that? I'm going to need another job soon and will have to keep my options open
I always wondered how equity provided by startups is taxed. Equity vested is illiquid, are you supposed to pay taxes on paper money which you can't sell in open market? What happens if the equity value goes down after you pay taxes (as it happened with many start ups in 2022-23)? this makes me wond...Read more
