We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer II to join our Mailchimp Customer Data Platform group focused on unifying customer data (from multiple channels) into a single comprehensive customer view to enable customer engagement and personalization at scale.

What you'll bring
• 2-5 years experience developing web applications.
• Experience with:
• web services (consuming or creating) with REST
• Backend software development using Java Spring or Spring-Boot to expose and consume RESTful web services
• Unit testing frameworks & mocking
• NoSQL and relational databases
• Kafka and GraphQL
• Kubernetes & Docker
• Microservices architecture
• Nice to have:
• Kotlin
• AWS Open Search or Red Shift
• Experience with streaming applications and real-time data.
• A lead - not just technically skilled, but able to drive a project E2E and deliver it. Having a direct impact on the end-product.
• Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and a passion for problem-solving.
• Solid communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams while maintaining effective working relationships.
• You have experience with large-scale data systems, including integrations from various sources such as data warehouse/cloud storage, third-party systems using pre-built connectors, APIs, or ingestion through data streams.
How you will lead
• You’ll enable Mailchimp to democratize domain data by developing self-serving and curated data models.
• You’ll build data pipelines to deliver a single view of customers (unified profiles) and prospects that includes their digital identities, both direct and computed key attributes, ingested from multiple channels.
• You’ll work on data modeling, data cleanup, validation, and standardization.
• You’ll lead, design, develop, and deliver large-scale data systems, data processing, and data transformation projects.
• You need to be self-motivated, proactive and a contributor of code.
• Be able to read any code in an existing codebase and change it.
• Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships / alignment with partners across the business.
• Gathering functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, complex technical environment with high adaptability and flexibility.
• Communicates clearly and persuasively to all levels of employees, customers and management.
• Working cross-functionally with various Intuit teams: Product Management, Experience Design, different product lines, or business units to drive forward results.
