The Tapeout Office:
The central Tape Out Office is part of the Chief Technology Office (CTO) organization within NXP. This international entity has locations in both The Netherlands and the US.
The primary duty of the Tape Out Office is to make sure first silicon (chips) for new products is delivered fast and without incidents to support time-to-market requirements. The Tape Out Office is a central organization within NXP which handles all tape outs (chip designs) from any NXP design team (world-wide) to any fab/foundry in the world, including the NXP internal wafer fabs.
Primary Responsibilities:
The tape out software engineer will be a member of the Tape Out Office and will be responsible for maintaining, developing, and innovating software tools essential for users to fulfill their tasks effectively.
The software tools consist of a collection of web-based applications developed over time, with a critical requirement for high uptime and widespread usage by thousands of users worldwide within NXP. Given the ongoing necessity to enhance these systems with new features, efficiency, and adhere to corporate security protocols, there is a perpetual demand for maintenance and development across the range of software tools in use.
The tape out software engineer will be part of a small software engineering team within the Tape Out Office and will participate in software development projects, collaborating with users, NXP IT, and other corporate entities seeking specific information generated by the Tape Out Office.
Qualifications:
• Higher education level (BS/MS) - EE, Computer Science or similar
• 5+ years of industry experience
• Knowledge on PHP, mySQL, perl, python, shell scripting, HTML, Javascript/AJAX and web-GUI programming as well as version and configuration management tools.
• Relevant knowledge on Windows, Linux (including job scheduling tools like LSF), Office and e-CAD tools or willingness to learn
• Knowledge of semiconductor process technology production processes is an advantage
• Great team player
• Good communicator (verbal and in writing) in English as the main language
• Willingness to work with flexible working hours
