There are many pros and cons to either, but It's worth noting I'll just be an intern Apple: Pays better Free housing/dinners PD is awesome Not as much room for growth/promotions if full time Tesla: Awesome mission More autonomy over my work More room for growth I don't know if I like manufacturing Commute is terrible (1-1.5 hours by car, 2 hours BART)
Yes
Yeah you fucked up man
Rephrased question because nothing is set in stone. Which do you think is better and why?
A terrible commute is really hard to deal with. Good luck!
From what I hear Tesla is like Amazon. Treats it's employees worse and pays them worse. Money aside it's usually better to go where you're wanted more because that will look better when you career switch as well
At Tesla the manager said I need his approval to work overtime (over 40 hours a week) since I'm just an intern. At Apple the team I'd join would expect this overtime. I don't have an issue with either though.
Does apple pay for overtime or are they salary?
Look... at tesla if you're on your knees then you'll move up. They want you to do the work of the next position up with the hope and possibility of getting that next job... then after 4 months of shy am I not getting the correct amount of compensation as others? I'm doing 2x the workload and they are chilling. But when you inquire they hire a brand new person who has no experience then you have to train your new boss. Room for growth is slightly a joke.
So would you not recommend Tesla for this internship? What is your role?
I also heard tesla pays shittier
