Meta always led the market with above-average compensation and insane employee perks and benefits they offered. The next players: Google, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft — simply maintain the status quo and only 1/4 companies provide free food to its workers. Until we see ludicrous VC money enter the tech arena again (unlikely for the next few years), we can say goodbye to crazy TC and employee benefits now that all companies are trying to cut costs on their balance sheets. Thank you @Meta and Zuck for leading the pack and driving up TC for us all.
YHOO, INTC, MSFT, JDSU used to provide free air-flown full service meals from top Michelin stared restaurants and coffee made by real baristas in 2000s… All gimmicks to fool kids out of colleges
No way! Is this true?
Get me a time travel machine! Let's go back in time a couple of decades
lol what a loser / victim mentality. No wonder you're at Amazon, happy to be treated like crap. High TCs aren't going anywhere for anyone who knows their worth.
Hey Netflix let me know when you get your E3 promo 🤡
What is your special worth? How many patents , research publications? Stitching together some micro services and DBs does not count.
Lol Amazon has no perks or benefits
The cream of the crop will always get what they’re worth. For years under qualified and undeserving candidates have commanded large TCs and this is just a correction. Hopefully no one who asks a question in real life like “I have a query” ever gets picked for a job role and are immediately arrested
TCs are still insane in context. I'm not in the Bay, Seattle, or NYC and pulling in 270k YC with 2 YoE. Idk how much money people expect, but I'm happy with this.
Amazon and benefits can't be in one sentence
I was genuinely shocked when I went into the office the first time and there was no food anywhere in sight. All those youtube videos lied to me 😞.
Meta hasn't changed lol
You lost laundry benefits earlier this year, expect more benefits to be cut
Not Exactly. Don't fall for fake news. The benefits adapt every year and the perks became more remote friendly this year. Instead of laundry folks got a better benefit with flexibility built in. It could be used for laundry or something else :)
Welcome to reality
The obsession with TC really ruined tech. I remember when it only attracted nerds who were passionate about technology and building cool stuff. Now everyone’s just trying to max their TC
Hey Amazon, do they still replenish your bananas?
They're only offering the peels now. Tough times
Peels are from all the bananas that bezos and his family ate?
